**Job Summary**
TYLin is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Aviation Engineering to lead key elements of our work at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), one of the largest and most complex aviation hubs in the world. This is a high-impact opportunity to guide major airside, landside, and terminal infrastructure projects as part of a long-term capital improvement program. You'll work closely with Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and key partners in shaping the next generation of aviation infrastructure in Southern California.
**Responsibilities & Qualifications**
**What You'll Do:**
+ Lead major engineering efforts at LAX, managing the planning, design, and delivery of terminal, airside, and landside infrastructure projects in alignment with LAWA goals and FAA standards.
+ Serve as a trusted advisor to LAWA, airlines, and regional partners, helping drive consensus, solve complex challenges, and support capital program objectives.
+ Manage multidisciplinary project teams and subconsultants, ensuring coordination across disciplines and effective stakeholder engagement.
+ Oversee project delivery with a focus on schedule, budget, design excellence, and sustainability goals set by LAWA.
+ Support TYLin's program presence at LAX through active participation in program-wide coordination, interface management, and technical integration activities.
+ Lead or support proposal efforts and participate in interviews to expand TYLin's footprint within LAWA's long-term improvement plans.
+ Monitor changes in local, state, and federal aviation policy and funding, and support clients in navigating regulatory environments.
+ Represent TYLin at industry events such as AAAE, ACI-NA, and regional aviation forums to stay current and maintain visibility within the West Coast aviation market.
**What You'll Bring:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
+ 12+ years of experience delivering large-scale aviation projects, including significant experience at large hub airports (LAX strongly preferred).
+ Professional Engineer (PE) license in California is required.
+ Demonstrated success leading complex, multidisciplinary projects within active airport environments.
+ Strong familiarity with LAWA design criteria, FAA guidelines, and California transportation and infrastructure regulations.
+ Skilled in managing client relationships, leading teams, and mentoring staff in a high-performance culture.
+ Experience working in partnership with public agencies, contractors, and terminal operators in a program environment.
+ Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Group Overview

By coordinating across various teams, AIRMOB ensures the fleet meets both current and future operational needs, supporting a range of specialized air mobility missions.

Position Summary

The Manager, Aviation Engineering and Technical Support oversees modifications and engineering activities, assuming responsibility for aircraft configuration management, and providing technical support for Maintenance and Flight Operations through select component or aircraft SMEs.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and liaison engineering functions for the performance of TCTOs, AMOCs, ADs, SBs and major repairs/alterations with manufacturers, external engineering agencies, and the Head of Maintenance.
  • Lead and manage a team of technical subject matter experts and liaison with both internal and external engineering and technical organizations.
  • Research and develop short- and long-term roadmaps to address sustainment issues such as parts/systems obsolescence, reliably and maintainability, and enhance mission effectiveness.
  • Maintain Engineering Order (EO), TCTO and modifications indexes, and records of Major Repairs/Alterations (Dent & Buckle program) for each aircraft.
  • Coordinate the development of all necessary engineering and technical documentation required to complete aircraft, engine and appliance alterations within regulatory and company schedule and budgetary requirements.
  • Oversee the Weight & Balance and Configuration programs in coordination with the Configuration Control Manager, Flight Operations and Head of Maintenance.
  • Develop, issue and control Fleet Campaign Directives (FCD) in coordination with Maintenance Programs, and the Heads of Maintenance, Airworthiness and Technical Services.
  • Obtain regulatory approval when required for modifications/repairs performed on aircraft, powerplants and components in coordination with Head, Tanker Technical Services and the Head of Airworthiness.
  • Participate in industry working groups, steering committees, meetings and conferences.
  • Lead a team of select subject matter experts providing technical support throughout the Tanker Maintenance and Airworthiness Department
Skills and Experience
  • 10+ years experience developing Engineering Authorizations/Orders (EAs/EOs) for performance of ADs, TCTOs, and SBs.
  • Experience in military aircraft maintenance and inspection programs and technical data.
  • 10+ years experience performing maintenance on C/KC-135 aircraft.
  • Experience with aircraft modifications and upgrades.
  • Experienced with aircraft weight & balance processes, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing engineering functions in a commercial airline environment.
  • Supervisor experience managing and leading teams.
  • Ability to understand complex technical data/documents and translate them to maintenance instructions.
  • Experience with compliance monitoring tools and aviation maintenance software platforms.
  • Project management experience, including software implementation and cross-functional coordination.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.

Honeywell is hiring an Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering Interns! Envision, design, and develop products and systems as a highly engaged and integrated engineering team. You will work closely with and partner across Honeywell engineering teams to create solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will help participate in all phases of product development and will be part of a group of hardworking engineers whose expertise ensures the success of engineering projects and programs.

The hourly base range for this position is $20.00/hr - $42.00/hr. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**

+ 7-10 years of experience in Part 25 Certification Engineering
+ Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and standards (e.g. FAA, EASA) and experience with aircraft design methodologies; familiarity with industry-specific tools and technologies (DO-254, DO-160)
+ A strong working knowledge of the STC process
**Skills and Qualifications:**
+ FAA DER for Systems and Equipment, Structures or able to obtain such delegation
+ Proficiency in CAD software for design and simulation
