Job Description

The Aviation Transport Logistics Specialist is responsible for the booking of all customer-related transports involving air transportation including private air charter, commercial airline cargo, and on-board courier arrangements, along with the scheduling and management of all ground transportation arrangements associated with the respective air transportation.

Duties/Responsibilities :
Specialists will be assigned to one of the two functional areas described below or may act as a "float" during their work shifts.

Commercial Air Transports :
  • Research and identify potential commercial transportation options for various locations and time frames to include Commercial shipments and On-Board Courier options.
  • Navigate and analyze multiple cargo sites to determine the most efficient and effective transportation solutions.
  • Identify and secure STA-certified drivers capable of tendering at cargo sites.
  • Proactively address and solve problems in the event of any delays or complications during transportation.
  • Develop rapport and communicate effectively with NKR staff and transplant centers.
  • Ensure the NKR website is updated throughout swaps.
  • Resolves operational issues, handles escalated and/or adverse communications with couriers, commercial airlines and the NKR team.
  • Other duties as applicable or assigned.
Charter Air Transports :
  • Collect all necessary information from calling coordinator and parse information for input into NORA's transportation management system.
  • Identify aircraft suitable for requested mission and contact respective air providers to determine if aircraft is available for use to NORA.
  • Retrieve appropriate quotes and trip sheets from respective air providers to provide accurate time and price quotes to NORA customers.
  • Create all associated ground records and dispatch corresponding drivers for all NORA charter flights.
  • Develop and send comprehensive itineraries for requested trips to both the air provider and the customer.
  • Field any follow-up questions or requested changes to respective itineraries from customers.
  • Monitor all ongoing NORA charter flights, ensuring proper departure and arrival times have been entered, and booking return ground transports as necessary.
  • Manage NORA's daily aircraft availability canvassing and update the internal transport management system.
  • Other duties as applicable or assigned.
Requirements :
  • Prior experience as a Transportation Coordinator or NORA Ground Dispatcher - preferred.
  • Ability to work both day and night shifts as dictated by business needs.
  • Ability to adapt and problem solve in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.

A leading aviation services company, operating in and around Charlotte, North Carolina, US , is seeking an experienced Senior Aviation Operations Manager. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our aviation services. You will be responsible for managing daily flight operations, overseeing ground support activities, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of aviation operations, including air traffic control, aircraft maintenance, and regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include managing flight schedules, coordinating with pilots and flight crews, overseeing the maintenance department to ensure aircraft airworthiness, managing operational budgets, and ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and other aviation standards. You will also be responsible for implementing safety management systems, conducting risk assessments, and developing emergency response plans. This position requires excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with a commitment to safety and operational excellence. You will be instrumental in optimizing our aviation operations and ensuring the highest level of service to our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of daily flight operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate flight schedules, aircraft assignments, and crew logistics.
  • Supervise and manage ground support operations and personnel.
  • Oversee aircraft maintenance activities and ensure airworthiness.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets and resource allocation.
  • Implement and maintain Safety Management Systems (SMS) and conduct risk assessments.
  • Respond to and manage operational disruptions and emergencies.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, air traffic control, and other aviation stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and safety performance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in aviation operations management.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., FAA FARs) and safety standards.
  • Experience with flight scheduling, dispatch, and crew management software.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance principles and procedures is a plus.
  • Relevant aviation certifications or pilot licenses are advantageous.
