General
This is a full-time, FLSA exempt position that will report to the Director of Security and works closely with the Manager of Security, Director of Safety, and Director of Operations. This position interacts with Captains, First Officers, the Airport Services Team, the Commercial Team, and external vendors that provide security at the Companys field locations. This position may also interact at times with the FAA or DOD. The Sr. Specialist - Security is responsible for providing the support necessary to help ensure that all employees and vendors are adequately knowledgeable of the Companys security-related duties in accordance with regulatory requirements and the Companys security-related goals. The Sr. Specialist Security will also act as the Companys Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO) for the DOD and be responsible along with the Manager of Security to ensure DOD requirements are met, the Companys Ground Security Coordinators (GSCs) are adequately trained, and may work on Transportation Security Administration (TSA) audits as assigned by/ and as an alternate for the Manager or Director of Security.

Qualifications
- The Security Specialist 1 will have detailed knowledge and understanding of the security training requirements for flight crews and all employees as spelled out in DOT, FAA, DOD, or Company regulations.
- Bachelors Degree or relevant Aviation field is preferred; High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two (2) or more years of experience working in a Flight and/or Airport Operations environment utilizing large turbo aircraft is mandatory; international experience preferred.
- Results-oriented with the ability to balance diverse and dynamic operational requirements.
- Prior experience in airline security or related discipline is preferred.
- Must be able to pass government FSO security training within one (1) year or less.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to pass a two (2) year drug and alcohol background check, pre-employment drug test, and Criminal History Records Check. (CHRC).
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities will also include:
- Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information, and may also include classified information as part of the A-FSO role;
- Ability to effectively communicate through written, verbal and electronic means;
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Proficient / Intermediate or better skills in MS PowerPoint, Excel and MS Office Suite;

VMD is seeking an on-site Project Manager (TSA Security Screening) to be responsible for all operations related to general airport security services at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE). This includes, but is not limited to:
- Application and knowledge of all current TSA Security Screening Directives and Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures to manage airport security screening operations.
- Management and support of the collection of various performance metrics.

- Professional-level experience required, managing non-exempt employees in a fast-paced, service organization.
- Must be able to secure a valid Guard Card issued by the state of Wicsonsin.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in a professional manner in accordance with company standards.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office software along with the ability to learn and efficiently operate various timekeeping and payroll programs.
- Demonstrated customer-service oriented approach, with the ability to successfully interact with all levels in the organization in a courteous and professional manner.

VMD is currently seeking applicants from existing personnel performing Security Training Instructor services at the Sonoma County Airport (STS).
What you will do:
The Security Training Instructor (STI) is primarily a training specialist that screens to maintain screening awareness and technical proficiency in order to instruct. STIs manage and deliver training material and maintain communication with supervisors concerning training issues that may reveal security-screening weaknesses or vulnerabilities.
An STI shall successfully complete screener training and an initial STI certification training courses to become qualified. In addition, prior to delivery of nationally developed TSA training all Train-the-Trainer and specific course certification requirements shall be fulfilled.
- Works independently and applies developed experience to perform duties associated with the Security Training Instructor Program. Completes the majority of work without the need to refer issues to a superior for a decision and exercises sound judgment.
- Performs training instruction within established guidelines and standards in support of nationally developed training programs. Develops and adapts national training protocols to meet local needs.
- Supports recurrent training needs, and conducts return to duty and remediation training.
- Administrative support (i.e. OLC entry test administration classroom support)
- Provides oversight to collateral duty ATIs; conducts Quality Assessments.
- Manages classroom dynamics and coordinates needed support and materials; monitors and evaluates training and provides feedback and corrective action.
- Maintains communication with management and supervisors concerning training issues that may reveal screening weaknesses and/or security vulnerabilities.
- Continuously improve security screening processes and personal performance through training and development.
- Performs pre-board security screening of persons carry-on and checked baggage to maintain certification requirements a minimum of 20% of the time.
- Must meet the requirements and certification of a Level II Transportation Security Officer (TSO)
- At least one of the following experience requirements must be met:
- Minimum of 2 years adult-learning classroom instruction experience; or
- Instructor certification from a recognized instructor-training program (e.g., ASTD CTTI); or
- Formal instructor training from a recognized source (e.g., U.S. military Federal training program college/university or trade school or private corporation)
- Teaching Certificate
- Ability to pass recurrent training and certification exams on a periodic basis.
- Demonstrate the ability to clearly convey facts and ideas in both written and oral formats.
- Demonstrates the ability to work as a member of a team; instills mutual trust and confidence.
- Sets well-defined and realistic goals; displays a high level of initiative effort and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner; demonstrates responsible positive professional conduct; works with minimal supervision.
