Industry Team Overview
Bain Capital Credit's US industry team covers over 16 sectors. Investment professionals apply their industry-specific knowledge and networks to identify and evaluate investment opportunities across the capital structure and for all Bain Capital Credit funds and accounts. Team members spend their time reviewing investment opportunities and selecting securities, conducting due diligence, preparing investment recommendations and monitoring the universe of names they follow. Industry team members interact regularly with the Credit Committee, Portfolio Management teams, and Trading Desk to communicate and refine their recommendations.
This individual will be based in our Boston or New York City office.
Responsibilities
- Perform fundamental company-specific research: visit company management, conduct original on-site research in the field (with customers, suppliers, etc.), and attend industry conferences
- Perform industry-level analyses to inform the investment process and provide critical context
- Build earnings models and perform valuation analysis
- Make proactive buy/sell recommendations and effectively communicate your views with team members
- Learn and adopt the firm's straightforward investment process, characterized by direct verbal communication and concise written investment summaries supported by in-depth data-driven analysis (i.e., quantitative models of market size/growth, competitive positioning, and financial statements/analysis valuation)
- Strong academic credentials (BS/BA from highly-regarded institution) and a demonstrated track record of successful work experience
- 2-4 years of post-undergrad business and/or investing experience with an investment management firm, investment banking, or venture capital/private equity firm
- Experience analyzing and/or evaluating companies
- A fundamental, analytically-driven approach to investing with strong analytical/modeling capability
- Experience interacting with and assessing senior management teams
- Ability to work collaboratively in team environments and strong relationship-building skills
- Creative approach to due diligence
- Excellent communication skills with ability to synthesize complicated analyses concisely and to articulate insightful conclusions compellingly. Open to spirited debate over ideas.
Compensation Information:
- Expected Annual Base Salary 150,000 - 160,000
- Actual base salary will be determined by several components including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
- Additional compensation: In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team, and firm performance.
