What will I do?
- Possess an understanding of the products offered in the department
- Maintain the overall appearance of the department, ensure fresh product and levels are sustained, items are well-merchandised in innovative, eye-appealing displays and stocked in correct locations, while recognizing seasonal, holiday and weather effects on product sales
- Proactively approach customers, assist them in locating products throughout the department, provide suggestions for meal solutions, and answer any questions they may have about products
- Understand how products look/smell at peak of perfection, ensure use of production guides, job aids, core recipes, and techniques to provide a consistent and quality outcome
- Assist in ordering and inventory processes , utilizing order guides to help control inventory and shrink

Savannah Scone Company (SSC) is seeking a Bakery Assistant to join our team and growing business. The ideal candidate for this role is a dependable self-starter who is willing and motivated to learn. The successful candidate will have a positive attitude, solid organizational skills, and be upwardly agile as the role grows.
It is important to note that this is an early morning shift with typical hours from 4:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m.; however, there may be shifts with start times as early as 3:00 a.m.
The successful candidate will be integral to the growth of SSC and may be eligible for promotion into leadership over time. Previous baking experience is not required but is a plus. Having some experience in food prep is required.
Responsibilities:
Weigh and measure ingredients.
Set oven temperatures and monitor or modify as needed.
Ice, glaze, and decorate baked goods. Monitor and maintain ingredient inventory.
Work with customer service staff to replenish baked goods and other items.
Utilize Point of Sale computer system, as needed.
Prepare and fulfill shipping orders, as required.
Clean and sanitize prep areas, workstation, and equipmentusing a triple sink process.
Comply with all health and safety guidelines and SSC policies and procedures, including adherence to dress code and hygiene.
Follow opening and closing checklists.
Maintain a consistent work attendance and punctuality record.
Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by Leadership.
