Job Title: Global Banking & Markets - Operations Engineering - Java Developer

Pay Rate: 70/hr.

Duties: The Operations Division is the engine room that powers Major Global Bank and Operations Technology is driving their industrialization through automation, digitization, and orchestration.

Margin, Collateral and Valuations Engineering's goal is to partner with the Business, Credit, and Operations groups to provide scalable, timely, consistent, cost-effective margin processing, client valuations, and portfolio reconciliations across all clients, businesses, and products globally. Our platform spans computations, orchestrations of dependencies, post calculations workflow to manage margin calls, settlements, reporting, and reconciling with clients on their portfolios and external regulatory reporting.

Your impact will be to develop and extend our service-oriented platform to provide flexible margin capabilities to Major Global Bank clients at a rapid pace, automate for operational scale, and reuse perspective. You will be joining a global team of technologists that are continually innovating to deliver solutions for our clients and impact the firm's bottom line.

This role will provide a unique opportunity to develop your technical skills and absorb our business products from a domain perspective. Learning, teamwork, partnering with stakeholders, product ownership, working with very large data, designs, technical expertise, and user experience are all aspects where you could make an impact or further develop your skills. Our technology stack consists of Java, AngularJS, React, BPMNs, RESTful web services, Elastic Search, Graph and DB2 database, Slang (proprietary scripting language), industry tools integration APIs.

A willingness to learn new languages, technologies, and the business will be the key to your success in this role.

  2. Participate in the design, development, testing, and documentation of our margin platform.
  3. Evolve the margin platform to meet business, client, regulatory, operational, and technical needs.
  4. Participate in the entire SDLC from definition of requirements through deployment and support.
  5. Gain technical expertise and practical experience of managing mission-critical platforms from technical experts within and outside the team.
  6. Work closely with Business, Operations users, and other developers globally.

Skills:

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  3. Object-oriented design/development.
  4. RESTful web services.
  5. RDBMS experience (DB2 preferred, write/analyze complex queries with multi-table joins and aggregate functions).
  6. Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills; must be a self-starter.

Preferred Qualifications:

Your Impact

The Derivs Automation team is responsible for building algo, smart order router, order management system, and internalization for US Listed Options trading. The team is responsible for gathering requirements from internal/external clients, designing and developing trading strategies and trading platform, and monitoring trading performance for strategies. The team interfaces with clients, sales, trading, compliance, legal and other strats & engineering teams in the firm on a regular basis. The team plays a critical role in driving our Electronic Options Trading business.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain high-performance, yet nimble and adaptive Options trading strategies for internal and external clients.
  • Monitoring trading performance for strategies daily and building algo customization based on clients' needs.
  • Deep understanding of US Options market structure, regulations, exchange service offerings and implementing changes to these on an on-going basis.
  • Communication with traders, sales, clients and compliance officers about new feature requests, explanation of existing features etc.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in STEM with 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in either Java or C++
  • Extensive experience with designing and implementing algorithm/smart order router for US Options trading
  • Experience in data driven trading strategy performance analysis and optimizations
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with designing and implementing algorithm/smart order router for Agency business
  • Experience with building back testing for trading strategies
  • Experience with Low latency trading strategy development
  • Experience with supporting clients directly


Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $15000-$3000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
