Annual Fundraiser for Bichon Fur Kids Dog Rescue (BFK) We were founded in 2005 and are based in Southern California. To date, our rescue organization has rescued, rehabilitated, and lovingly rehomed and placed more than 4,000 dogs, primarily bichons and bichon mixes (as that is our mission). We have also rescued a few non-bichon pups that urgently needed help.

BFK is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization, registered with the IRS for the past 16 years and managed by an elected Board of Directors.

We take in dogs of all ages, from newborn puppies to our senior citizens. Our goal is to always provide the best foster environment possible -one that enables us to truly understand the personalities and needs of our rescued pups in order to match them with the best families available.

In addition to love and dedicated attention, we provide best healthcare possible to address their medical needs. We also provide whatever training a dog may need to become the best dog he or she can be.

We have also incorporated a "Forever Foster" program for older bichons whose medical needs are absorbed by our organization. Within that program, BFK pays the medical expenses for the life of each FurKid in the program.

Our Annual Fundraiser - The Bichon Bash

As you may imagine, the money that we invest in caring for each pup can be extensive and a challenge for any rescue group. The pandemic has also affected the cost of veterinary services, including an uptick of between 25-50%. As a result, we are scrambling to ensure that we have sufficient funds to provide the care that these loving pups need and deserve.

We hold our annual fundraiser, which we call the Bichon Bash, to enable us to raise as much money as possible to provide for the dogs in our care. Please understand that 100% of any and all money we raise goes directly to address the needs of our FurKids -from veterinarians and groomers to supplies.

Our fundraiser is attended by supporters, friends, adopters (and their bichons), vendors, sponsors, with a catered lunch, raffle baskets, auction, bake sale and booths.

2 shifts available:

• Saturday, Oct. 4, 7:30 a.m. - 10 a.m. (set up)
• Saturday, Oct. 4, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. (event + break down) - this shift can be broken into shorter durations

• Collaborating with management, departments and customers to identify end-user requirements and specifications
• Designing algorithms and flowcharts to create new software programs and systems
• Producing efficient and elegant code based on requirements
• Testing and deploying programs and applications
• Troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining and improving existing software
• Compiling and assessing user feedback to improve software performance
• Observing user feedback to recommend improvements to existing software products
• Developing technical documentation to guide future software development projects
• Review current systems, develop ideas for improving systems, work closely with data analysts, designers, and staff, write program codes, test the product before going live, prepare training manuals for users, and maintain systems once they start running

As a Technology Support Lead in Enterprise Technology, you will play a leadership role in ensuring the operational stability, availability, and performance of our production services. Critical thinking while overseeing day-to-day maintenance of the firm's systems will be key and set you up for success as you navigate tasks related to identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues to ensure a seamless user experience.

Job responsibilities

• Lead teams of technologists that provide end-to-end application or infrastructure service delivery for the successful business operations of the firm
• Execute policies and procedures that ensure operational stability and availability
• Monitor production environments for anomalies, address issues, and drive evolution of utilization of standard observability tools
• Escalate and communicate issues and solutions to the business and technology stakeholders, actively participating from incident resolution to service restoration
• Lead incident, problem, and change management in support of full stack technology systems, applications, or infrastructure

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise troubleshooting, resolving, and maintaining information technology services
• Experience managing applications or infrastructure in a large-scale technology environment both on premises and public cloud
• Proficient in observability and monitoring tools and techniques
• Experience executing on processes in scope of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Working knowledge in one or more general purpose programming languages and/or automation scripting
• Practical experience with public cloud
