The Role:

As a Behavioral Health Professional, you will provide care to clients between the ages of 1-21. Specifically, Behavioral Health Professionals (BHPs) provide supervision and therapeutic support to children struggling with severe and persistent behavioral challenges, in order to help them achieve the highest level of independence possible. This role takes a special kind of person who is patient, trusting, communicative, and innovative.


This role offers a competitive salary of $26/hour once provisionally certified. We offer the flexibility of either full-time or part-time positions throughout the state of Maine.


As the Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) Daily Living Skills (DLS), you will be responsible for:

  • Providing individualized support within the clients' personal home and surrounding community.
  • Safely transporting the client within your own personal, reliable vehicle.
  • Following the client’s treatment plan outlined and created by the client’s family and the case management team.
  • Basic understanding of smart phone applications, access to email communication, and awareness around processing electronic documents such as daily session notes.
  • Training is available.


In this position, you must have:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, as in your own vehicle.
  • Must be located in the state of Maine
  • Active motor vehicle insurance & registration
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with children, in the education field or Community Health industry, and/or having an active BHP certification is a bonus.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAPOSITION SUMMARY
The Behavioral Health Professional will work as part of a multidisciplinary team with all other disciplines on the Behavioral Health Unit to provide a proactive and collaborative approach in serving the patient population in a correctional environment. The role includes crisis intervention, clinical management of high acuity behavioral health cases; and could include group or individual treatment.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be a Licensed, Master's Level Behavioral Health Clinician who can administer assessments, make clinical decisions, provide Mental Health treatment, and hold any of the following licenses: LSW, LPC or equivalent. The Behavioral Health Professional co-leads group therapy, one on one therapy, and crisis therapy.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Professionals will provide crisis stabilization, complete intakes and on-going evaluations, and provide consultation to in-house and community services.
  • Participate in monthly behavioral health calls, work collaborative with the medical team to best determine overall treatment for each individual.
  • The Behavioral Health Professional performs risk assessment of inmates; coordination of care with interdisciplinary team including medical staff, community providers, psychiatric hospitals and corrections; and discharge planning.
  • The Behavioral Health Professional assists in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects.
  • The Behavioral Health Professional provides the necessary preparation of documentation, necessary records and reports.
  • The Behavioral Health Professional utilizes clinical skills such as prioritizing treatment needs; crisis management; brief clinical interventions including CBT and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Excellent and timely documentation skills required.
  • The ideal candidate is able to make independent clinical decisions, while utilizing assistance and supervisory intervention, as needed.

  • Provides brief intervention and consultation in real time to patients

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Relevant Master's Degree required.

  3. Experience with short term, strategic, goal-oriented therapy skills (SFBT) in a CHC or other health care setting.
  4. Familiarity with current DSM and ICD Diagnosis Codes
  5. Sensitivity to low income, ethnic minority community.
  6. Bilingual in English and Spanish, required .

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The starting pay range from $19.00-$22.25 per hour based on experience, licensure and education.
  • Full-time and part-time positions open. Shifts are 6:00am – 6:00pm or 6:00pm-6:00am

We provide compassionate, individualized care to children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).

Starts at $8 if you already have your BHP Certification

In this role, you will:
  • Work directly with children with IDD to develop positive behavior strategies.
  • Collaborate with families, educators, and therapists to create a comprehensive support system.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to promote emotional well-being and skill development.
  • Make a lasting impact on the lives of these incredible children.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • A patient, caring, and positive attitude.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build rapport and trust with individuals with IDD.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to individual needs.
  • Valid state issued driver's license, current vehicle insurance declaration and vehicle registration.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • The ability to pass comprehensive background checks per state and company regulations/policies
