Description
The Bill of Materials (B.O.M.) Analyst will help create and implement the new work order process along with all change management and sustaining of the new process. The B.O.M. Analyst will oversee the BOM integrity & GP systems set up while acting as a liaison between Integration and Procurement Departments.
Responsibilities:
- Create a plan to transition the work order process from a manual paper process to electronic
- Work with cross functional teams to gather requirements to build out the new electronic work order process
- Create and manage the change management and communications plans for the new work order system implementation
- Make decisions on all changes to the systems and day to day process
- Train all users on the new process at go-live
- Creates and manages Work instructions for new electronic work order process
- Inputs BOM for all parts to be manufactured according to the most recent drawing/revision from Engineering.
- Reviews all inventory component parts to ensure sufficient quantity to fulfill work order
- Upon final processing, provides manufacturing work order to operations supervisor for scheduling and distribution.
- Provides on the job training to newly assigned employees and resolves problems utilizing knowledge of work order process.
- Minimum of 5 years of systems experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with Great Plains software
- College Degree is preferred
- High school diploma is required
- Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation.
- Knowledge of safety practices.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Convert Sales Order Information into Manufacturing Product BOM.

+ Maintain the rules and update the bill of material structure for the sales configurator and engineering library.

What You'll Be DoingThe Materials Management Buyer is responsible for the purchase of supplies, equipment and purchased services with the goal and focus on quality, availability, and cost that afford the best products at the lowest cost by adhering to the agreed upon contracts (including GPO or local contracts). As part of the procurement function, responsible for strategically reducing acquisition costs within defined categories of the hospitals spend. - Identifying, addressing and reporting all major, consistent/persistent price discrepancies to appropriate personnel including the Materials Manager.
- Creates, confirms, and accurately expedites all purchase orders for assigned departments via email, telephone, or electronic order entry.
- Organizes, updates, and retains product information files, and purchase order records.
- Proactively investigates price changes and challenges these changes when not justified.
- Ensures appropriate paperwork is secured from the vendor and updated in the respective information systems.
- Analyzes data in spreadsheet and database format
- Verifies requisitions for proper approvals, appropriate use of item files, contract pricing and manufacturer, distribution channel, and terms and conditions.
- Resolves issues of receipts, backorders, accruals, returns, quality (fitness for use), or invoicing issues for purchase orders, and assists in resolving invoice/Purchase Order discrepancies by working collaboratively with vendors and CarePoint Health Accounts Payable Department.
- Establishes and maintains an open and clear line of communication with assigned departments while acting as a source of product knowledge, with the goal of driving savings and standardization.

- High School diploma required. Undergraduate degree preferred.
- 3-5 years prior experience working in healthcare procurement preferred.

Experience

Minimum Required

- 6 months working with patient care supplies & equipment. Previous experience in medical supplies, including the ability to calculate usage and demand along with basic purchasing procedures.

- Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties.
