Position Overview
As a Building Information Modeling Technician at Meade, you will be responsible for advanced modeling and creating working shop drawings that will be used to support shop fabrication and field installation on various construction projects. Coordination of drawings and working closely with assigned Project Managers, Vendors, Engineers, and Field Personnel will be essential for this position. You will use Autodesk software for design and various 3rd party software where applicable.
Responsibilities
- Help the BIM Manager develop strategies to integrate BIM Modeling into Design and Prefabrication.
- Review and fix clashes with other trades and participate in coordination meetings.
- Work closely with BIM Manager and Project Managers for resolution of issues identified during coordination meetings.
- Analyze project BIM requirements and identify early strategies for successful BIM/detailing implementation.
- Model and coordinate projects at a 500 Level of Design (LOD).
- Model and coordinate with other trades to ensure routings and clearances are understood and no obstructions exist.
- Identify BIM “lessons learned” and participate in educational meetings within the department.

- Create and revise submittal documents.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective completion of projects.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two (2) years' related experience within the construction industry with knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks software. Knowledge of BIM360 and/or Autodesk Cloud is an advantage, but not required.

Plateau is seeking a motivated and highly skilled BIM/VDC Coordinator to join our growing Virtual Design and Construction team. Based in our Kennesaw, GA headquarters, this role supports a wide range of projects, from early-stage preconstruction through project execution. The BIM/VDC Specialist will develop models, manage coordination workflows, and work closely with project teams, clients, and trade partners to deliver fully coordinated, constructible designs.
As a critical contributor to Plateau’s construction innovation efforts, you will help implement BIM standards, resolve coordination challenges, and lead the integration of digital technology into field operations. This is a growth-focused position with opportunities to advance into a VDC/BIM Coordinator role as proficiency and leadership skills develop.
Key Responsibilities
Modeling and Coordination Execution
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed 3D models across multiple underground utilities (sanitary, storm water, electrical and telecom).
- Assemble federated models for use in design coordination, clash detection, field layout, and construction planning.
- Support project setup in platforms like Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks Manage, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and Trimble Field Link.
- Perform regular clash detection and issue tracking, leading efforts to resolve conflicts before construction.
- Integrate design updates, field conditions, and constructability changes into live project models.

Strategic and Leadership Development
- Assist in the transition of VDC workflows from preconstruction through field operations, supporting smooth project hand-offs.

**THE BIM TEAM**
Our Building Information Modeling (BIM) team maximizes pre-construction efforts by visually defining a project prior to construction so that conflicts are identified early, and adjustments are made with minimal impact. From field sketches to BIM, installation drawings and as-builts, we get the job done right and provide the highest-level of BIM documentation each project needs.
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The BIM Coordinator will be part of the BIM Group, working on complex construction related electrical projects. This position will work directly with Project Management, Field Management, and BIM Manager on deliverables for projects including installation drawings, modeling, coordination, redlines when due to the BIM team, sign-offs for modeling.
The ideal candidate will create and maintain the BIM rolling schedule, forecast work and hours needed to complete each task, and hold other operators accountable for meeting deliverables.
The BIM Coordinator will also create and maintain Installation drawling log and send overall + summary page weekly on Fridays to the team.
+ Identify red flags in schedule that could impact deliverables. Including sign offs after installs are due, signed off models that still have clashes, sign offs after construction, RFI's that affect BIM that have not been addressed.
+ Sets up project and keeps it maintained throughout entire lifestyle.
+ Attend clash detection meetings and internal project meetings as required by project team.
+ Set up initial internal clash detection models for team members to use during coordination. Checks on clash detection reports each week to validate operators are on track.
+ Delegates download and uploads of files for BIM team to use.
+ Helps create 3D model based off red-lines and develop 2D installation drawings and detail drawings from 3D model or sketches when project is running smoothly
+ Perform QA/QC of work and the work of others on the project to ensure standards are met
Depending on project need, this position may be located at San Jose HQ, a major out-of-state jobsite, or possibly a remote home office. The position reports to the BIM Manager.
**Knowledge:** Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Some barriers to entry exist at this level (e.g., dept/peer review).
**Job Complexity:** Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
**Supervision:** Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead).
**ABOUT YOU**
You bring over five years of experience in the electrical construction industry and have proficiency in the work of a drafter/CAD operator and modeler. You have advanced electrical knowledge including: equipment clearances, utilize the code book to make sure code is met through modeling, ability to read project specs, ability to read blueprints at an advanced level, ability to make recommendations on best practices and constructability.
+ Requires minimal training on software and continued training on electrical constructability
+ Requires minimal QA/QC for any work being submitted
+ Can perform 3D modeling at an advanced level
+ Can help train others on 3D Modeling and 2D drafting based off standards and best practices
+ Can trouble shoot software and help trouble shoot other individual software

Our Building Information Modeling (BIM) team maximizes pre-construction efforts by visually defining a project prior to construction so that conflicts are identified early, and adjustments are made with minimal impact. From field sketches to BIM, installation drawings and as-builts, we get the job done right and provide the highest-level of BIM documentation each project needs.
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The BIM Coordinator will be part of the BIM Group, working on complex construction related electrical projects. This position will work directly with Project Management, Field Management, and BIM Manager on deliverables for projects including installation drawings, modeling, coordination, redlines when due to the BIM team, sign-offs for modeling.
The ideal candidate will create and maintain the BIM rolling schedule, forecast work and hours needed to complete each task, and hold other operators accountable for meeting deliverables.
The BIM Coordinator will also create and maintain Installation drawling log and send overall + summary page weekly on Fridays to the team.
+ Identify red flags in schedule that could impact deliverables. Including sign offs after installs are due, signed off models that still have clashes, sign offs after construction, RFI's that affect BIM that have not been addressed.
+ Sets up project and keeps it maintained throughout entire lifestyle.
+ Attend clash detection meetings and internal project meetings as required by project team.
+ Set up initial internal clash detection models for team members to use during coordination. Checks on clash detection reports each week to validate operators are on track.
+ Delegates download and uploads of files for BIM team to use.
+ Helps create 3D model based off red-lines and develop 2D installation drawings and detail drawings from 3D model or sketches when project is running smoothly
+ Perform QA/QC of work and the work of others on the project to ensure standards are met
Depending on project need, this position may be located at San Jose HQ, a major out-of-state jobsite, or possibly a remote home office. The position reports to the BIM Manager.
**Knowledge:** Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Some barriers to entry exist at this level (e.g., dept/peer review).
**Job Complexity:** Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
**Supervision:** Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead).
**ABOUT YOU**
You bring over five years of experience in the electrical construction industry and have proficiency in the work of a drafter/CAD operator and modeler. You have advanced electrical knowledge including: equipment clearances, utilize the code book to make sure code is met through modeling, ability to read project specs, ability to read blueprints at an advanced level, ability to make recommendations on best practices and constructability.
+ Requires minimal training on software and continued training on electrical constructability
+ Requires minimal QA/QC for any work being submitted
+ Can perform 3D modeling at an advanced level
+ Can help train others on 3D Modeling and 2D drafting based off standards and best practices
+ Can trouble shoot software and help trouble shoot other individual software
+ Helps maintain and develop BIM standards
+ A natural when it comes to communication and a collaborator when in a team setting, you bring organizational skills and a strong work ethic.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**

We are seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator to monitor third-party BIM Coordination design and construction efforts for our ongoing projects. The BIM Coordinator will ensure external design and construction firms meet stringent BIM requirements that include BIM Execution Plan adherence, clash detection expectations, LOD expectations, metadata entry expectations, and ACC model management workflows. The role requires deep technical expertise in Navisworks Manage, BIM/VDC workflows, BEP development, and will require oversight and supervision of a small team of contract-staff BIM Coordinators performing clash detection and model QC.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Monitor third-party design and construction firms in the development of multi-disciplinary construction models.
+ Review and validate third-party BIM deliverables and requirements, including clash detection workflows, metadata checks, LOD adherence, ACC model management workflows, model & file naming conventions, and IFC/IFF model signoff & turnover expectations.
+ Collaborate with external BIM teams to align BIM expectations with facility requirements and project timelines, and manage contractor staff resource allocation for multiple high-tech construction projects.
+ Provide Navisworks technical guidance and training as needed for BIM Coordinator contract staff, and perform Navisworks clash detection to support contract BIM Coordinator staff.
+ Utilize additional BIM and Project Management tools (ACC, Procore, Revit, AutoCAD, etc.), monitor project progress related to BIM signoffs, and collaborate with Principal BIM Lead, support staff, and Micron sustaining Facilities counterparts to maintain Micron BIM/VDC requirements and workflows
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in the BIM/VDC industry.
+ Strong knowledge of BIM/VDC workflows, Navisworks functionality, Autodesk software and CDE platforms (ACC), and general industry standards.
+ Familiarity with AEC project and change management workflows in the high-tech industry to include Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build projects with a high level of Owner involvement and oversight.
+ Familiarity with Facilities Engineering disciplines and roles.
+ Excellent project management and communication skills to coordinate with external construction firms, vendors, and internal teams. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on ensuring safety and quality in third-party BIM Coordination.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience overseeing third-party BIM Coordination for semiconductor, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, or data center facilities.
+ Experience supervising BIM Coordinator or Designer support staff.
