Job Description:

Main responsibilities include answering telephone calls and conducting ticket sales for The Grand Opera House and Mercer Ticket Sales. Students will receive training in ticketing software and are expected to stay informed of upcoming shows and events. Additional responsibilities include working on mailings, filing, and completing other tasks as assigned. The main box office is at The Grand Opera House on Mulberry Street, which is off campus. The secondary office is in the University Center. Applicant must have transportation. Shows and athletic events will be worked as needed. Box office hours during the school year are 10a-5p, Monday-Friday.

The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is committed to customer service and has great leadership skills. The ability to work well with others is necessary, and applicants must have some experience with computers. Good communication skills and a mode of self transportation are necessary.

THE JOB

Isleta Amphitheater is seeking a Box Office Representative who will assist guests at live events by performing duties, such as collecting admission tickets and passes from guests, assisting in finding seats, searching for lost articles, and locating such facilities as rest rooms and telephones.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • Sell and collect admission tickets and passes from patrons at events.

  • Greet guests attending events who come to the box office.

  • Inform guests of the layout of the venue and be prepared to direct them to the restrooms, concession stands and designated seats/sections.

  • Know how identify a fake ticket or credential and educate the guest on where to buy authentic tickets.

  • Settle seating disputes or help solve other guest concerns.

  • Assist guests in finding seats, lighting the way with flashlights, if necessary.

  • Show CARE by participating in the venue’s sustainability program which could include implementing programs that conserve resources/prevent waste such as sorting waste and collecting recycling and educating our fans about our efforts.

  • Partner with fellow band members at the end of show to close the venue- this may include collecting recyclables from the lawn and/or reserved section, picking up and properly storing event equipment such as lawn chairs, barricade, Etc.

* Secondary representative in all venue interactions with Ticketmaster
* Ensure an accurate and timely flow of event and general venue information both intra-departmentally, and to the general public
* Modify, maintain and update all customer database files
* Develop and maintain call center phone system, and keep current all phone menus and calendars of events
* Interact with artist, record label, management and band tour accountant. Provide reports as necessary.
* Work with Premium Seat Sales/VIP team on Upsells, inventory management and any other tasks as they arise
* Work with Operations/Guest Services on ADA tickets, relocation or troubleshooting needs as they arise.

Position Summary

As the Production & Box Office Assistant at The Promontory , you will play a key role in creating an exceptional experience for guests, artists, and team members alike.
