Client is seeking a Build Engineer with 10+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education. The role involves supporting Production support/Site Reliability Engineering teams with a continued focus on improving Platform health. Key Responsibilities: Formulate and implement project plans tailored to the client's environment and scope, ensuring successful execution. Undertake projects independently, collaborate as a valuable team member, and lead teams, guiding less experienced consultants and clients towards achieving project success. Operate across diverse industries and verticals, cultivating client knowledge and establishing credibility. Design and execute readiness assessments, assess outcomes, and present findings in a clear and comprehensible manner. Execute plans outlined by employee-facing managers and business leaders. Gather requirements needed to start the project, understanding the various stages of the project flow, understanding at a high level the needs for the project success (e.g., data set training). Required Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in Production support/Site Reliability Engineering teams with a continued focus on improving Platform health. Familiarity with Agile or other rapid application development practices. Hands-on expertise with Automated testing, Process Automation, and building dashboards using APM tools. Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, relational databases, and NoSQL databases. Knowledge & exposure to caching tools (Redis, memcache) or messaging tools such as MQ, Kafka. Working knowledge of APM tools such as Splunk, GCL, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, etc. Ability to create dashboards using GCL/Splunk/ELK and set up alerts. Working knowledge of CICD is a plus - Source control like Git, Continuous Integration - Jenkins / UCD Release, etc. Ability to work with Engineering teams across the ecosystem such as Security, Networking & Infrastructure challenges which can impact platform health & resiliency. Shell Scripting / DevOps tools like Ansible with good knowledge of YAML files to write playbooks. Experience with distributed storage technologies like NFS as well as dynamic resource management frameworks PCF, Kubernetes / OpenShift, AWS, or Azure. Able to work on shift duty in a 12/7 support organization. A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks. K2 Space is building large, high-powered spacecraft for the next generation of space development. The Role
As a Build Engineer, you'll support the build of several subsystems for the Gravitas mission, K2's first flight of the Mega class satellite. You'll partner with Production to develop the build flow for your systems and help identify opportunities to increase build efficiency. Our ideal candidate is able to juggle competing priorities and interact positively with a wide array of people.
Responsibilities
- Develop integration planning and build flows for several vehicle systems
- Work closely with production to implement solutions that increase build efficiency
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to disposition nonconformances and evaluate any corrective actions
- Support proto-qual testing
- Evaluate proposed designs for manufacturability and integration
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, aerospace, mechanical, computer, or other engineering discipline
- 2+ years of experience in an integration engineering role (includes internships and hardware-intensive extracurricular projects)
- Experience creating, improving, or deleting production process and workflows
- Experience interacting with CAD software and CAD models
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Expert multitasking skills with the ability to juggle priorities while maintaining focus to deliver against program goals
- Experience working in a clean room and with ESD-sensitive equipment
- Experience or exposure in a test or automation role
- Experience with GraphQL
- Proficient in Python and/or Rust
- Experience with Linux systems
- Base salary range for this role is $00,000 - 135,000 + equity in the company
- Salary will be based on several factors including, but not limited to: knowledge and skills, education, and experience level
