Heavy Equipment Operator Responsibilities and Duties:

The Construction Heavy Equipment Operator will operate a variety of tracked and rubber tired equipment ranging from Dozers, Front End Loaders, Excavators and Vibratory Rollers. The Construction Heavy Equipment Operator may also be asked to perform a varied semi-skilled tasks that may involve physical labor for building, highway and construction projects, excavations and demolition.

• The Construction Heavy Equipment Operator must have good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and balance, and ability to operate equipment in both rough and fine grade assignments.
• They must be able to read and understand warning signs and labels on a construction site, be able to interpret plans, drawings, and written instructions and specifications.
• They should be capable of working as a member of a team and have basic problem-solving and math skills.
• They must possess the knowledge and ability to operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Reaching and feeling, overhead lifting, and repetitive motions are required: Talking and hearing; good eyesight (either naturally or with correction); and color discrimination are essential to satisfactory performance. Due to the nature of the position, an Operator may be required to perform other duties throughout the course of a workday. Regular and timely attendance is essential, and hours must conform to the company's operating hours.

• Operate several types of heavy commercial construction equipment, such as excavators, backhoes, track hoes, bull dozers, skid steers, vibratory compactors, forklifts and motor graders to excavate, move and grade earth, erect structures, dig trenches, or pour concrete or other hard surface pavement.
• Must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by federal and state law, and company policies and procedures.
• May repair and maintain equipment and associated maintenance records in addition to other duties assigned by project supervisors.
