JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

●   Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or a related field

●   Minimum of 5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or a related analytical role, within the consumer goods industry. Combination of startup and corporate experience is highly valued.

●   Proficiency in statistical forecasting methods and demand planning techniques

●   Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights

●   Very organized and able to keep track of information communicated via various modes (emails, Slacks, meetings, secondhand, etc.)

The Demand Planning Specialist is responsible for the procurement of all products that are included in UPMC's asset inventory. JOB SUMMARY:
Leads and drives continuous improvement to Polaris ORV demand planning processes. Demonstrated ability to develop plans and recommendations that influence key business leaders based on knowledge and data. Develops consistent & highly accurate retail forecasts used to support ship planning that is integrated with Retail Flow Management and dealer inventory profiles using various forecasting tools and methodologies, including Blue Yonder statistical model and trend analysis. Integrates and improves cross-functional collaboration with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to develop and execute the 18-month Demand Plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Develops and recommends the 18-month ORV Demand Plan
+ Uses trend analysis, Blue Yonder Statistical forecast software, sales & promotional inputs, competitive info, and leadership input to develop a consistently accurate retail plan and industry forecast.
+ Responsible for the analysis, execution, and consolidation of product line, segment, and marketing name forecasts
+ Integrates dealer profiles, order forecasts, and dealer inventory targets to develop the ship plan
+ Communicates worldwide ship demand plan to scheduling & manufacturing to drive build requirements
+ Communicates industry, retail, & ship plan including risks & opportunities to ORV leadership
+ Leads monthly cross-functional Portfolio Review meeting to align on product, price, mix, and volume strategies.
+ Recommends and champions continuous improvement of overall ORV demand planning processes
+ Key stakeholder in the SIOP Transformation strategy, including future enhancements to support the business
+ Develops clear and consistent processes across business categories and channels
+ Ensures high data integrity and quality of other team inputs.
+ Uses critical thinking and influencing skills to assist ORV Mgmt in driving business decisions
+ Collaborates with teammates to optimize demand plans
+ Assist cross-functional partners in regularly providing data and analysis on retail/order/ship forecasts; dealer inventory & DSO (days stock on hand) analysis.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
+ Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
+ 3+ years' experience in business analytics
+ Demand planning/forecasting experience is highly preferred, but not required
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
+ Strong analytical skills
+ Ability to work successfully within a team, cross-functionally, and independently
+ Ability to navigate ambiguity by demonstrating strong analytic, strategic, innovative thinking, and problem solving
+ Proven track record of organizational and project management skills

The role is critical to ensuring continuity in sales forecasting, driving S&OP+ processes, and maintaining alignment across cross-functional stakeholders.
**Role Purpose:**
To lead the development of the unit sales forecast for company through the S&OP+ Demand Management Review (DMR). This role ensures the integrity of forecast assumptions, fosters transparency in decision-making, and partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Regional Demand Planning to produce an accurate, aligned, and reality-based demand plan.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**1. Forecast Management:**
- Lead the monthly forecast cycle, including coordination and execution of the DMR process.
- Maintain and update the rolling 26-month forecast based on input from Sales, Marketing, and leadership.
- Utilize FuturMaster statistical forecasts and market insights to challenge and enhance forecast accuracy.
**2. Cross-Functional Collaboration:**
- Facilitate ongoing alignment with Sales Leadership on forecast Risks & Opportunities.
- Partner with CPFR and Regional Demand Planning teams to validate and refine demand signals.
- Work with Marketing and Sales to develop forecasts for new products, discontinuations, and innovation pipelines.
**3. Forecast Assumption Management:**
- Document, challenge, and update forecast assumptions across assigned Business Units.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and perform root cause analysis on significant variances.
- Communicate forecast changes and business drivers clearly across the organization.
**4. Strategic Support:**
- Support Joint Business Planning (JBP) efforts and provide input into Annual Operating Plans.
- Influence functional business decisions using data-driven storytelling and demand analytics.
- Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting for Business Units to support planning and execution.

**Deal breakers:**
+ Lack of experience leading a formal forecasting process (DMR or S&OP).
+ Inability to explain forecast assumptions or articulate forecast accuracy metrics
