Overview: Camp Kanuga is a summer camp for children and youth ages 6-18. Camp Kanuga is a Christian ministry affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Camp Kanuga offers day camps (ages 5-11), traditional overnight camp (ages 7-16), Expedition camps (ages 12-18), and Leadership development camps (rising 11th & 12th graders). Principal Responsibilities:
- Implement procedures to carry out a system of documented health screening of every Camp Kanuga camper.
- Documented medication management: manage the administration of medications brought from home; administer OTC medications to campers whose parents have given their permission; organize medications for staff to administer during off-campus trips.
- Oversee Camp Kanuga's software that organizes each camper's medication.
- Help to organize Camp Kanuga's health-care schedule (including off-time) so that someone on the health-care staff is on-call for the entirety of the summer and directly available during peak-times.
- Provide training and information for camp staff to carry out their role and responsibility in camp health-care, prepare them to use health-care supplies and equipment with which they may be furnished, identify those situations which should be attended to only by certified health personnel, and use established sanitary procedures when dealing with infectious waste or body fluids.
- Consult with campers and staff who have medical issues, especially during peak-times. As needed, assist other Kanuga health care staff.
- Order adequate supply of medical supplies, stock the infirmaries and inventory supplies at the end of the season.
- With discretion, inform the necessary camp staff of camper health issues. Keep the Director informed of on-going and emerging problems.
- Be the main liaison and care-giver for sick summer staff.
- Compile suggestions for following camp seasons, focusing on ways in which the health needs of Camp Kanuga campers can be better met through Camp Kanuga's health-care practices, especially focusing on ways to prevent the occurrence of common injuries and illnesses.
- Be a leader in the camp community, setting the example for behavior and attitude of all staff and campers in their relationships and overall camp experience; (leading by doing and managing by coordinating, publicly identifying and celebrating outstanding performance and making follow-up visits to areas or individuals having problems)
- Be a liaison between parent/camper and Camp Kanuga, always giving personal, caring attention.
- Continuously observe implementation of all Camp Kanuga guidelines, policies, procedures, and covenants; give feedback and coaching where there are problems, keep the Camp Director informed of status at all times, giving early warnings of emerging problems.

I. JOB SUMMARY
The Respite Counselor is part of TFC's respite weekends during the fall, winter, and spring seasons where we provide accessible outdoor experiences such as horseback riding, sports, challenge education, creative arts, and various other season-appropriate activities. II. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Provide and assist campers with personal care based upon individual needs. This includes dressing, feeding, toileting, showering, teeth-brushing, etc.
- Provide direct supervision of the campers to ensure their safety and whereabouts at all times.
- Guide and assist campers in a range of indoor and outdoor activities.
- Document the camper's progress toward meeting his/her treatment goals.
- Set-up and ensure recreation equipment is secure and stored properly.
- Assist campers in daily cabin tidying tasks.
- Follow safety and emergency procedures as outlined in the Agency's policies and procedures manual.

I. JOB SUMMARY
The Camp Nurse is responsible for administering camper medications, providing first aid, managing camper/staff illness and injury, keeping timely medical documentation, communicating with parents and counselors, as well as the organization of medical information, medications, and first-aid kits at camp.
II. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Meet with parents/caregivers during check-in to learn medication administration home techniques and record and secure all medications.
• Update and/or complete individuals' Medication Administration Record to comply with physician's orders (if parent/guardian orders, they must sign a release).
• Prepare the first 24 hours of camp medication passes as campers arrive and later doses at least 2 doses in advance of administration.
• Document medication administration on each individual's Medication Administration Record immediately following each completed pass.
• Perform first aid administration (for campers and staff) and document on Incident Report forms.
• Monitor (and correct as needed) and document first aid administered by others.
• Respond to issues reported by Lead Counselors concerning direct care times (i.e., rash, blisters, wounds, etc.).
• Inform Camp Director and/or on-site Administrator of any needs requiring off-camp assistance before replying to or phoning parent/guardian or camper's physician.
• Create a First Aid Kit Inventory Essentials List and have copies laminated for each kit.
• Prepare cabin, barn, garden, waterfront, and sports and rec area kits prior to camper arrival; thoroughly clean and disinfect cabin medication containers as needed.
• Prepare and inventory the Outpost kit and review with Outpost Coordinator.
• Aide Outpost staff in their preparation of off-site adventure/camping trips and answer any questions or concerns.
• Coordinate restocking of kits with Cabin Leads and program areas as needed.
• Maintain Medication and Infirmary rooms appearance; complete inventory and submit order requests to Camp Director; thoroughly clean and disinfect rooms weekly or more frequently as needed.
• Participate in all training activities that the Agency provides for professional growth and skill development, including pre-camp orientation; assist with training related to health issues.
Be familiar with regulatory bodies (i.e., Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the American Camp Association) and review and uphold standards and regulations set forth by such.
• Review and uphold MCHS and The Fowler Center policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
III. BASIC COMPETENCIES
Education and Experience:
• Must have a license as a: physician, physician's assistant, nurse practitioner, registered nurse, or practical nurse.
• 1-3 years of experience preferred.
• Current Adult & Child APR/AED, or the ability to become certified.
• Previous experience working at a camp and/or with people with disabilities preferred.
• Ability to utilize critical thinking in emergency situations outside of the clinical environment.
• Maintain a valid driver's license and driving record that is acceptable and meets the requirements of the agency's insurance carrier.
• Must meet the State's Moral Character standard.
Work Schedule & Hours:
• Seasonal position that requires willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Stays in cabin on site.
Skills and Abilities Needed:
• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Manage time and multiple priorities, meet deadlines.
