Description

EnFin is a financial services company that provides financing for residential solar PV and energy efficiency upgrades, backed by the PV panel manufacturer, Qcells. Through its extensive dealer network, EnFin offers consumers a variety of loan and TPO (third-party owned) products that help to make the purchase of an energy system more affordable. EnFin funds its business by selling and/or pledging residential solar receivables to complex funding vehicles. These vehicles are funded by third party investors that include large asset managers, investment banks, and insurance companies.

EnFin is looking for a talented individual interested in building a career in renewable energy finance to join the Capital Markets team. The Analyst will assist in executing transactions with investors across the capital stackincluding equity, debt, and tax equity. The Analyst will help in all aspects of capital raisingfrom early investor outreach, to deal and project management, to data management and cash flow modeling.

This position will be based out of one of our offices in Irvine, CA; San Francisco, CA; Santa Clara, CA; or Teaneck, NJ, with a potential in-office schedule set at the direct managers discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Raise capital to fund the growth of EnFins residential TPO business in alignment with Company projections and market growth strategies.
  • Assist in deal execution with JV/debt/tax equity investors to ensure completeness.
  • Build/maintain project finance/tax equity models with the most recent data for use of the capital markets team and other leaders.
  • Review and revise various legal documents according to Company and legal standards.
  • Develop presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders, including investors and leadership.
  • Assist the asset management team with preparing borrowing requests and executing tranche sales.
  • Work closely with Third party appraisers, insurance providers, and independent engineers to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform both recurring and ad-hoc analysis to support the senior members and leaders of the capital markets team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional work experience including 2+ years of experience in project finance or structured finance as a top-tier developer, asset manager, or investment bank.
  • Passion for renewable energy and the adoption of rooftop solar.
  • Relentless intellectual curiosity.
  • Unwavering attention to detail.
  • Experience in MS Office Suite and Excel (Pivot tables, functions, & VBA).
  • A willingness to learn how to use new AI tools to enhance efficiency.
  • An unparalleled work ethic and ability to research, identify and troubleshoot problems independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt and work well in a fast-paced start-up work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building and maintaining complex project finance Excel models.
  • Basic understanding of consumer lending, credit underwriting, and renewable energy finance.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or SAS.
  • 2+ years of work experience in consumer or renewable energy finance.

Candidates with 12+ years of experience as Project Manager role in business consulting/advisory services.
Business domain expertise is must in Investment Banking Capital Markets trade flows in one of business lines like Prime Services, Electronic Equities, Clearing and Settlements, Fixed Income (which include bonds and other debt instruments), Futures and Options from the front office to middle and back-office operations
Expertise in liaising with business legal and compliance teams.
Orchestrating large programs across multiple business stakeholders, traders, operations, and technology ecosystem
Coordinate with the IT team for project completion.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to facilitate and lead remote, cross-functional, cross-location meetings

o Fixed Income
Able to interact with multiple teams & functions: Traders, developers, Operations, up to senior management.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency for detailed documentation.
Identify and assist in resolution of risks and issues that will adversely affect planned project milestones.
Experience with JIRA/Confluence/Wiki
Good to have business industry certifications like CFA, FRM, etc.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

EnFin is a financial services company that provides financing for residential solar PV and energy efficiency upgrades, backed by the PV panel manufacturer, Qcells. Through its extensive dealer network, EnFin offers consumers a variety of loan and TPO (third-party owned) products that help to make the purchase of an energy system more affordable. EnFin funds its business by selling and/or pledging residential solar receivables to complex funding vehicles. These vehicles are funded by 3rd party investors that include large asset managers, investment banks, and insurance companies. EnFin is looking for an experienced project finance specialist to join the Capital Markets team. Reporting to the Head of TPO Capital Markets, the Director will lead in structuring, negotiating, and executing transactions with investors across the capital stackincluding equity, debt, and tax equity. As a deal lead, the Director will be responsible for driving transactions from initial pitch to close.

This position will be based out of one of our offices in Irvine, CA; San Francisco, CA; or Teaneck, NJ, with a potential in-office schedule set at the direct managers discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Remote work may be considered for exceptional cases.

Responsibilities

  • Source capital to fund the growth of EnFins residential TPO business.
  • Lead negotiations with JV, debt, and tax equity investors.
  • Articulate EnFins TPO business and strategy to 3rd party investors.
  • Build and maintain complex project finance/tax equity models.
  • Review and comment on complicated JV, debt, and tax equity legal documents.
  • Ensure close linkage between capital costs and market pricing.
  • Teach and instill best practices in junior members of the team.
  • Ability to act as Deputy Head of TPO Capital Markets in making important business decisions.
  • Liaise with pricing, planning, accounting, and operations teams on strategy.
  • Develop strong relationships with capital partners across the renewable energy project finance market.
  • Lead the development and presentation of materials for investors, EnFin leadership, and Hanwha Energy Solutions leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in finance, economics, engineering or related fields.
  • 10+ years of experience in consumer finance or renewable energy finance industries.
  • 5+ years of experience in solar project finance at a top-tier developer, asset manager. or investment bank.
  • 3+ years in a mid/senior-level role with direct reports.
  • Relentless intellectual curiosity and passion for renewable energy and the adoption of rooftop solar.
  • Unwavering attention to detail with strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent leadership, team development, people management and influencing skills at a senior level, including leading and managing large teams.

You will escalate discrepancies to the Capital Markets Specialist II, assist with miscellaneous accounting tasks and research, and maintain organized records and supporting documentation. Compliance with laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), is essential, with prompt reporting of irregularities. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
