**Job Summary and Qualifications**
Seeking a Cardiac Device Technician for our practice who will provide thorough, proficient pacemaker and AICD interrogation and re-programming to cardiac device patients in person, remotely, and/or via phone transmission. Responsible for initial device analysis, preliminary report generation, and alerting physician or non-physician practitioner to urgent issues requiring further attention.
What you will do in this role:
+ Interrogate, interpret, and re-program cardiac devices with minimal physician supervision.
+ Trouble shoot critical device issues and take immediate steps toward resolution.
+ Collaborate with physicians regarding device status and accurately document device analysis in EMR for review.
+ Educate patients on all aspects of their device including remote monitoring and follow-up protocol.
+ Ensure charges are accurately captured for device interrogation.
+ Schedule patients for device appointment follow up in EMR and remote website. Immediately contact "no show" patients to ensure they are re-scheduled.
+ Assist EP nurses and non-physician practitioners in the delivery of patient teaching.
+ Consistently travel to regional offices for assigned device clinics.
+ Participate in positive, proactive inter- and intra-departmental communication. Promote a healthy clinical environment and good working relationships.
+ Serve as resource to physicians and other practice employees regarding device patients and services.
+ Keep equipment in good working condition and notify appropriate personnel of problem areas or safety issues.
+ Ensure programming rooms are adequately stocked with necessary supplies.
+ Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
What Qualifications you will need:
+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
+ Minimum of five years' experience analyzing and reprogramming cardiac pacemaker and AICDs
+ (Biotronik, Boston Scientific, Medtronic, and St. Jude) OR cardiac device technology certification from a recognized device training school.
+ Experience reviewing and managing remote device transmissions (Carelink, Latitude, and Merlin).
+ Current BLS certification preferred.

* Provides support and coverage for the Cardiac Monitoring Center as needed.
* Coordinates all home-based remote monitoring programs such as Merlin.net, Carelink, Latitude and any Trans telephonic CIED analysis rooms device patients and/or office visits for the CIED APP/Physicians.
* Performs serial reprogramming of devices during Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy clinic.
* Demonstrates an ongoing competency in Device electrocardiograph monitoring, device scanning, analysis and report generation for physician review.
* Knowledge of concepts related to the implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) interrogation and function analysis.
* Conducts or performs ICD reprogramming per physician order.
* Displays knowledge (expertise) to recognize normal device function threshold analysis and device programming during CIED implant procedure per facility policy.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
* Minimum two (2) years in Cardiac Device experience or equivalent years of CIED industry experience.
Education
* Graduate from an accredited Cardiovascular or Allied Health Training program required.
License, Certification, Registration
* Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CCI) within 6 months of hire
* Basic Life Support required at hire
Additional Requirements:
* Experience as a Device company representative with companies such as Biotronic, Boston Scientific, Medtronic, and St. Jude, experience analyzing and reprogramming cardiac pacemaker and AICDs (Biotronik, Boston Scientific, Medtronic, and St. Jude OR Cardiovascular technologist.
* Experience reviewing and managing remote device transmission (ex. Carelink, Latitude, and Merlin, OR Certification from a recognized Cardiac Device Training School (i.e. ATI, IBHRE, Medtronic Academy).
* Knowledge of Cardiovascular terminology.
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
* Proficient use of keyboard.
* Actively stays up to date in device management and trends in technology related to device management.
* Excellent communication and patient education skills.
* Self-motivated and able to work well independently.
Preferred Qualifications:

Summary
Operates cardiac ultrasound equipment and performs high quality cardiac ultrasound imaging (echocardiography) to be used for the diagnostic evaluation of chamber measurements, blood flow characteristics, and cardiac function of the heart.
Job Duties
- Performs high quality Transthorasic and Stress Echocardiography imaging studies per protocol on adult and geriatric patient population including the knowledge of transducer selection, equipment knobology for optimal image, and the knowledge/ability to perform all measurements, per protocol. Performs the patient meet/greet (confirm ID and order), reviews history and supporting clinical data for optimum diagnostic results, conducts patient prep (explain procedure, answer questions, take BP, apply electrodes), monitors patient wellbeing during test to recognize potential medical problems and takes action, and develops documentation (including Technical Sonographer Report).
- Provides fellow colleague/new hire, student, intern and/or Fellow proctoring/training.
- Participates in echocardiography performance improvement initiatives and contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives; adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards.
- Communicates appropriately, respectfully, and clearly to directors, managers, and colleagues. Accepts direction as provided.
- Communicates, notifies, and follows-up on equipment failures and/or maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED with Cardiac Ultrasound on-the-job training and with registry and >5 years experience or
- Technical School Diploma successful graduation from Cardiac Ultrasound program and registry within a year of hire
- Less than 1 year experience performing adult cardiac ultrasound
- Knowledge of cardiac ultrasound physics and cardiac anatomy & physiology.
- Skill to use various ultrasound machine makes and models and perform settings and knobology for optimal images.
- Skill to prioritize patient care and use critical thinking.
- Ability to demonstrate eye-hand coordination, mechanical, and analytical aptitude.
- Ability to (physically) position patients for optimal images and transport ultrasound equipment.
- Ability to support a patient in an emergency situation.
- RDCS-Reg Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer ARDMS - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year or
- RCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree Cardiac Ultrasound program and registry or
- Bachelor's Degree Cardiac Ultrasound program and registry
Physical Demands
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
