Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required. Associate college degree desirable, preferably in a clinical discipline.
Licensure/Certification:
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Training Program and/or active certification as a Medical Assistant by an approved national examination agency. Current training and certification in basic life support (BLS) required; advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) required for specific diagnostic areas
Required Work Experience:
1-5 years physician office medical assistant experience with significant experience in cardiology.

Salary Range: Minimum $20.00 per hour - Maximum $26.00 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

Purpose:
Performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative.

+ Identifies all patients properly by using two patient identifiers and utilizes universal protocol when performing procedures. Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data. + Demonstrates competency in functioning in the first assist position.
+ Fosters an environment that supports aseptic technique during procedures and patient safety with the incorporation of a time-out process.
+ Practices with attentiveness to radiation safety for the patient as well as others in the procedure room including appropriate use of lead shielding and monitoring devices. Assures documentation of patient radiation exposure in electronic record.
+ Demonstrate proper positioning and appropriate radiographic techniques for all diagnostic and interventional procedures. Exhibits a clear understanding of correct patient preparation, equipment operations and patient monitoring systems.
+ Support other departments as directed or assigned. Must demonstrate a basic knowledge of the operation of both equipment and supplies.
+ Some responsibilities may not be applicable due to specific job locations.
+ Ensures all images within his/her area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through the PACS, and are properly networked to appropriate electronic record for archival and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the procedures performed. Maintains continuing education and competency requirements for position.
+ Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology (RT-R) or Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist (RCIS) or Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist (RCIS) certification or certified/licensed as a Paramedic in the state of Pennsylvania with current credentialing maintained.
+ Bachelor of Science in health care related filed accepted but not required.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:ARRT certified as a Radiologic Technologist or RCIS as a Cardiovascular Specialist or certified/licensed as a Paramedic in the state of Pennsylvania is required. - Maintains and documents care of the puncture site post sheath removal under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.
- Performs quality EKG tracing and performs Stat EKG's when requested.
- Collects, records, and reports accurate patient information.
- Demonstrates effective communication with other members of the health care team and promotes effective team functioning.
- Utilizes Health First computer systems with regard to order inquiry and patient documentation.
- Utilizes secondary skill as a monitor technician as needed; initiates patient set-up, maintains monitor equipment, runs rhythm strips and places in designated place in patient's record, and accurately identifies and reports arrhythmias.

Performs echocardiographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of heart disease according to established standards on neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adults. This position also requires the ability to perform other diagnostic procedures including stress testing. This is a PRN position.
QualificationsEducation:

- Coordinate echocardiographic procedures with appropriate departments and personnel.
- Ensure exams are completed in a prompt manner, from receipt of requisition to interpretation.
- Utilize effective patient care and communicate skills to obtain optimum patient rapport.
- Monitor patient condition and take appropriate action to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Respond promptly to STAT requests, and perform sonograms within the time frame required for optimum imaging.
- Function in other sections of the Cardiology Department as requested.
- Perform clerical tasks, which include scheduling exams and faxing results.
- Review and recommend equipment/supply purchases
- Maintain adequate inventory supply in work area.
