Summary:
The Director of Home Care Services is directly responsible for all administrative, operational and technical functions of the company. The Director of Home Care services plans, directs, controls, and supervises the activities of Down East Medical Supply in providing leadership and management for the employees.
Responsibilities:
Physicians, patients, and customers are served by providing quality durable medical equipment and supplies in a timely manner. Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of Down East Medical Supply and UNC Lenoir Health Care.
1. **Financial Management: Responsible for the adequacy and soundness of the departments' financial structure.**
1. Forecast and analyze financial and operational data for the development of budgets cost reduction and revenue growth strategies.
2. Prepare and administer operational and capital budgets.
3. Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective measures, when appropriate, to maximize performance and achieve revenue and operational income budget.
4. Establish bill amounts using knowledge of the industry, competition, reimbursement and bottom line profitability.
5. Negotiate and monitor contracts and purchases with vendors to ensure maximum savings for the department.
2. **Program Planning/Management: Develop, implement and manage processes and systems for improving operational efficiencies.**
1. Identify and drive changes needed to adapt services strategically in support of current and future needs.
2. Review financial reports and take necessary action with the goal of maximizing profitability without compromising excellence in customer care.
3. Oversee the selection, storage, delivery and ongoing maintenance of home medical equipment and supplies.
4. Develop, implement and monitor DME billing protocols.
5. Maintain current knowledge of statutory, regulatory and administrative requirements applicable to departmental operations.
6. Development, implement and monitor policies and procedures relative to the organizations mission, industry standards and regulatory compliance guidelines.
3. **Marketing: Establish and maintain positive relationships with physician and other referral sources in the medical community.**
1. Call on physicians, skilled nursing facilities', discharge planners, and case managers to promote homecare services.
2. Foster an atmosphere of trust and respect with referrals with the mission of identifying our commitment to providing excellent care to their patients.
4. **Compliance: Maintain compliance with standards, rules, laws, guidelines and policies regulating the home care industry.**
1. Joint Commission ongoing standards compliance and triannual surveys.
2. NC Board of Pharmacy annual registration and periodic unannounced surveys.
3. NC Dept. of Agriculture annual registration and annual unannounced surveys.
4. NC Division of Health and Human Services annual registration and periodic unannounced surveys.
5. **Leadership: Create and maintain a customer-focused work environment that attracts and retains high caliber team members.**
1. Coach and mentor staff to foster engagement and superior performance.
2. Monitor and evaluate performance to ensure accountability.
3. Readily provide feedback to reinforce positive behaviors and to address those that could be detrimental to the department, organization, or staff member him/herself.
4. Strive to treat all employees with fairness, compassion and respect.
6. **Professional Development: Actively participate in programs designed to enhance knowledge and improve skills related to leadership and the homecare industry.**
1. Maintain active liaison with national and state professional organizations to assure continued knowledge of and compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies governing the home care industry.
2. Participate in leadership development and continuing educational programs.
7. **Continuing Education: Coordinate appropriate continuing education for department.**
1. Develop and implement educational programs that meet the needs of staff and services provided by the department.
2. Ensure staff compliance with mandatory continuing education requirements.

+ Bachelor's degree or minimum of 3-5 years experience directing/managing a home medical equipment company.
+ **EXPERIENCE**
+ Three years experience in Healthcare Management/Sales.

+ **OTHER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and /or board of directors.
+ **WORK ENVIRONMENT**
+ May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens or TB requiring use of protective equipment

This role will partner with leadership to plan, design, and oversee daily business operations for both locations ensuring that Staffing and Client Care teams are following processes, protocols, and policies around our clients care plans and needs. What You'll Be Doing
- Responsible for planning and overseeing the daily operations of the business to ensure financial and performance goals and objectives are achieved.

Experience, Skills, and Education
- Bachelor's Degree in business management, marketing, or related field; or equivalent work experience in the healthcare/home care industry.
- 7+ years of direct team management experience.
- 3+ years of direct experience as a general manager or director in home care or senior living community.
- Demonstrated success in managing multi-million dollar operations and leading large teams.
- Strong knowledge of home care operations, compliance standards, and service models.
- Financial acumen, including budgeting, P&L management, and performance optimization.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.
- Strong proficiency with Google Workspace apps (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail).
- Must have clear driving record and pass a fingerprint background check.
Salary Description
$110,000-$150,000/yr + incentive comp
