Job Description
Emergency Medical Technicians provide out of hospital emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical services (EMS) system. EMTs have the basic knowledge and skills necessary to stabilize and safely transport patients ranging from non-emergency and routine medical transports to life threatening emergencies. Emergency Medical Technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response system, under medical oversight. Emergency Medical Technicians perform interventions with the basic equipment typically found on an ambulance. Emergency Medical Technicians are a critical link between the scene of an emergency and the health care system.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Graduation from an ADPH approved EMS Program
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Licensure by the ADPH as an EMT
Valid Alabama motor vehicle operator's license
Must maintain ADPH Credentialing

Job Description
The following statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements, which may be inherent in the position.
Physician Office RN or LPN performs all aspects of patient care that are within the scope of care of RN or LPN and not limited by Alabama Law or Hospital Policy.
Provides nursing care to patients, under the direction of a physician, who present with a broad range of medical complaints. The job includes, but is not limited to, the following: receiving patients, performing vital signs, specimen collection, giving injections, documenting charts as necessary, communicating clinical information to patients and other essential parties, maintaining all appropriate clinical logs as defined by MMC guidelines, and assisting the other staff however necessary.
Some of the many skills performed:
* Performing vital signs
* Performing routine lab tests
* Administering drugs and injections
* Documenting charts
* Assists with prior authorizations and patient assistance pharmaceutical paperwork coordination
* Patient care
* Assisting Physician with procedures
* Patient call backs with appropriate documentation
Assisting front office as needed
Qualifications
RN Education:
High school graduate or GED.
Graduate of School of Nursing with a minimum 2-year degree and current Alabama license.
Licensure/Certification:
* Licensure by the Alabama State Board of Nursing
Previous experience in physician office setting is preferred but not required.
CPR and first-aid certified.
Must possess excellent verbal and written skills and be able to adapt to emergency situations quickly.
