Job Description

Eaton's Electrical Engineering & Services division is hiring a Service Application Engineer - Data Centers to serve as a strategic partner in shaping innovative solutions for our strategic accounts. In this role, you'll lead the design of technical applications, drive pricing strategies, and execute proposals that meet complex customer requirements across diverse market segments. This is a remote role with approximately 25% travel.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $104,300 - $153,000 a year. This position is also eligible for a sales incentive program.

**What you'll do:**
- Lead technical proposal and bid package development; provides power distribution application support for assigned strategic and data center accounts.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to sales (NAS and EESS), channel partners, reps/agencies, end users, subject matter experts, and District Operating Center teams for developing technical and commercial proposals across strategic accounts and data center segments.
- Respond to requests from North American sales, channel partners and reps for data center new construction and aftermarket activities and across industrial, commercial, and utility segments for large accounts.
- Support division initiatives such as Service Attachment Orders for New Equipment, power system engineering, digital integration solutions, aftermarket solutions, extended warranty programs, and electrical worker training.
- Engage local resources to assist with proposal development and create standard pricing, quotation tools and processes to provide best-in-class service to our customers and improve proposal efficiency.
- Offer detailed project specification analysis, lead pricing development, provide construction estimating/subcontractor scope of work and engage third party vendors.
- Provide unique solutions beyond standard specifications to provide greater customer value and incorporate lessons learned to improve solution and pricing strategies
- Provide support to Eaton equipment application engineers in an effort to influence customer and consultation specifications, distributing Eaton Standard Specifications to Consultants and End-Users
- Lead and supports project hand-off activities; captures additional scope items beyond original specifications.
- Contribute to the digital development and standardization of pricing models, quotation tools, and processes to improve proposal efficiency and customer service.
- Visit job sites with Eaton field service personnel and/or sales to enhance understanding of Eaton products, field activities, and solution development.
- Conduct and lead customer presentations through joint visits with sales channels; educate and promote the engineering services product and solution portfolio.
- Track and report monthly proposal activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and industry organizations.
- Mentor junior team members while also seeking learning opportunities from peers.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to all stakeholders; commit extra time as needed to meet customer and project deadlines.
**Qualifications:**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ High School Diploma/GED or higher and at least three years of hands-on field service and/or proposal generation experience specific to power distribution services in the electrical industry.
+ Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license.

+ Power distribution experience in servicing, maintaining, and testing electrical power distribution equipment.

Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Review and understand complex data center construction projects that are being constructed by colocation lease providers. Have the ability to analyze the projects for risk profiles and work with colocation providers to mitigate.
2. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term standards and strategies for data center colocation construction projects delivery certainty to align with organizational goals.
3. This team's role will focus on the base building and MEP infrastructure portions of the project. They will be required to coordinate with the DCIB teams that are executing the tenant fit out data hall white space projects separately.
4. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
5. Project Oversight: Lead and manage the construction oversight efforts of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
6. Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinating with colocation providers to ensure timely delivery of milestones.
7. Risk Evaluation: analyze projects independently to evaluate the risk profiles associated with timely delivery, address gaps in risk identification and mitigation and inform the business of associated potential impacts.
8. Tenant Fit Out Integration: Work closely throughout design, construction, and commissioning to fully coordinate and integrate the separate scope of tenant fit out projects with the DCIB teams leading these efforts.
9. Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards.
10. Design Coordination: Collaborate with design teams to ensure that construction activities align with the approved design plans and specifications.
11. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and colocation providers, facilitating clear and effective communication.
12. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
13. Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
14. Provide ongoing colocation Provider evaluation input for continuous improvement
15. Regular project visits to ensure schedule, coordination, and quality will be required throughout the life of the project on a regular basis.
16. Innovation and Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating innovative solutions to enhance data center performance and sustainability.
17. Attend meetings held in various time zones to support live engagement and support of international projects.
