Established and proven experience of providing WAN & LAN support in diverse environments.

Highly proficient and experienced with data center networks (Arista VXLAN, EVP, CVaaS, DANZ)

Acts as a primary liaison and network security subject matter expert for business delivery teams

Ensure enterprise obligations are met and assets are protected based on IT audits discoveries and recommendations. Ensures compliance with all internal and external regulations and policies, that they adhere to all security and data protection requirements, and are incorporated into any required disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

When acting as Level 3 escalation, Principal Engineers will ensure ITSM protocol is followed and can act as an escalation point from Level 1 and Level 2 support to the appropriate level and/or unit within IT. Escalation will result in corrective action to resolve problems beyond the Level 1 and Level 2 capabilities or knowledge.

Has a good overall understanding of infrastructure and application portfolios to provide guidance to in the solutioning phase of the workflow.

**The Opportunity**

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
+ Professional Engineer (PE) license.
+ Previous experience within Data Centers and/or Data Center Facility Design.
+ Demonstrated understanding of design risk factors for redundancy and resiliency.
+ Understanding of design differences in hyper-scale, edge, and colocation data centers.
+ Possesses a proficiency in 3D modeling as well as managing and creating complex families with custom parameters within Autodesk Revit.
+ Familiarity with Data Center tier rating systems.
+ Strong knowledge of Autodesk Revit
+ Experience utilizing BIM 360, Navisworks, Revit work sets, view templates and project phasing.
+ Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment.
+ Self-motivated to deliver results when given a deadline.
+ Attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously.
+ Demonstrated ability to analyze and leverage data and metrics to challenge current assumptions.

**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
+ Minimum of 8 years related work experience.

**Key Responsibilities**
Engineering Standards:
+ Provides guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black and Veatch policies
+ Assists in developing, maintaining and updating engineering standards
+ Leads efforts and teams to deliver detailed design of large-scale data center environments
+ Conducts field surveys, drawings and other data to assess conditions of existing facilities and develop summary reports
Quality/Continuous Improvement:
+ May be responsible for ensuring compliance with Black and Veatch quality program
+ Provides guidance and direction to others to ensure designs comply with specifications, codes and customer requirements
+ Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts
+ Reviews drawing and modeling production work, including problem analysis
Engineering Production:
+ Prepares and/or reviews a variety of technical engineering deliverables to ensure installations and designs conform to standards and customer requirements
+ Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection
+ Provides guidance and insight into design risk factors for redundancy and resiliency
+ Oversees and compiles collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work. Creates engineering studies and reports
+ Performs detailed engineering calculations following standard methods and principles
+ Works closely with engineering project teams and field personnel to complete and review projects on scope, budget and schedule.
+ Performs project tasks and assignments within budgeted hours and deadlines. Incorporates schedules, budgets and project criteria into physical design and layouts.
+ Manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality
+ Responsible for one or more of the following: leading larger production teams; coordinating multiple discipline activity; and serving as the responsible charge for a project

+ Mentors, provides guidance and potentially supervises junior-level engineers and designers
+ Assists with performance management process, recognition, and any corrective actions required

+ Manages engineering resources for small groups of a single discipline
Administrative:
+ Ensures policies, procedures, and processes are effectively implemented and communicated for workgroup

**Certifications**
