Overview:
As a Critical Care Tech you will perform direct and indirect patient care in collaboration with an RN or Physician. While in this position you will be responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating and collaborating with the team to meet the physical and emotional needs of the patient. You will place orders, receive & stock supplies for the department/unit, and assist support staff with filing, medical records and daily tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

**Summary** :
A Behavioral Resource Technician ("BRT") is responsible for providing Intermittent/ close observation of the patient or patients they are assigned to. The BRT is responsible for observing up to four patients at a time. The BRT's role is to ensure that the patient does nothing to harm themselves or others. The BRT must maintain a safe environment and interact with the patient, family, and staff in a caring professional manner. As a member of the health care team, the BRT will provide care for the patient and may include bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating, turning, and repositioning as assigned. When caring for two behavioral patients, minimal patient care is required. The BRT is responsible for reporting any changes in the patient's condition or behavior to the nurse immediately and documenting every 15 minutes during their shift unless they are assigned to a 1:1 status and are expected to continuously observe the patient. Follows directions from the RN regarding limitations and privileges the patient has at all times. Possesses the ability to redirect the patient to a different activity. Possesses the ability to de-escalate a patient and maintain a therapeutic environment. Observes and report any significant occurrences in the patient's condition and behavior to the RN.
**4)** Receives report from the RN and off-going BRT when reporting for duty.
Reports off to the RN and on coming BRT 100% of the time. Provides immediate care to maintain the patient's safety.
**5)** Maintains A Safe Environment For The Patient
Remains with the patient at all times if assigned to constant observation unless relieved by a member of the staff. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in maintaining a safe environment and can identify ligature and safety risks in any environment of care. Accompanies the patient off the unit as directed by the nurse and remains with the patient at all times in these areas. Accompanies patients in wheelchairs and on stretchers to procedures. Reports any safety hazards to the RN. If responsible for two patients the BRT may not leave one patient unattended.
**6)** Understands the care for specific diagnoses such as suicidal, eating disordered, drug or alcohol withdrawal, PICA, Alzheimer's, anoxic brain injury, etc.
**7)** Communicates to patients that they are a high priority even during busy times. Treats patient information as confidential. Displays sensitivity to patients through non-verbal communication.
Utilizes body language such as eye contact, smiling, etc., to demonstrate an interest in the patient.
**8)** Participates in Competency Validations, Educational Activities, and Staff Meetings
Completes all mandatory in-services and web strategies 100% of the time. Attends and participates in staff meetings.
Attends annual mandatory validations.
Attends all additional programs as required. Continually seeks to improve skill level and knowledge base.
**9)** Demonstrates competency for one-to-one observation of patients based on department and unit-specific needs.
10) For BFMC ED: Proactively takes vital signs as needed/requested, including on patients other than assigned behavioral health patients, as assignment allows.
11) Assists in stocking treatment rooms and supply carts when behavioral health assignment allows.
12) Performs chest compressions during code blue situations as requested by the charge nurse

Utilizing proper radiation protection accessory devices and age appropriate immobilizers to produce high quality CT scans under the philosophy of A.L.A.R.A.
Under the direction of a physician demonstrates knowledge and ability to administer and document contrast and IV contrast according to standards for patients of all ages. Maintains proficiency in venipuncture and IV contrast safety. Assists radiologist and physicians in the performance of diagnostic CT procedures with patients of all ages performing support functions.
Demonstrates competency in the use of general radiographic equipment and in physical comfort measures and psychosocial issues when giving care to include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients:
Demonstrates the ability and knowledge to identify educational needs, obtain patient history, and provide information in easily understood terminology with clear communication style about procedures and care to patients of various ages. Determines appropriateness of procedure based on the above.
Maintains departmental equipment and facilities in a safe and clean condition. Reports equipment malfunctions. Assists in training and evaluating new CT associates and students.
Demonstrates competency in the physical comfort measures and psychosocial issues when giving care to include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Demonstrates high level of care, courtesy, and cooperation. Educates patients about their procedures and ensures patients and their families' comfort and need are appropriately addressed in a dignified, confidential manner.

Assist in laboratory testing as needed.
Review and uphold lab policies and procedures.
Assist in patient care, to the extent that training and education allows. This may include obtaining vital signs, bringing patients back, helping set up for procedures or other duties not usually performed by radiology technologists but that are within their scope of practice.
Perform phlebotomy duties, basic laboratory procedures, wound cultures, Point of Care testing, and other care interventions within scope of practice and direction of the prescribing practitioner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Associate's Degree (or equivalent to become A.R.R.T registered).
Must have completed formal radiologic technology training at an AMA approved school.
Current registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.).
Must have and maintain ODH registration with the State Medical Board.
Skills:
Must be able to cope with the stressful situations and handle deadlines in a demanding, fast paced medical environment.
Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills.
Must be competent in the use of facility communication systems and equipment (e.g. EMR/PACS and fax machines).
Must be able to input and retrieve information from radiological or other medical equipment and computerized systems.
Completed company provided laboratory testing course and competency.
License: Must have met ARRT registry requirements and be CT registered or if CT registry eligible, must pass registry within one year of accepting the position; if performing in more than one modality and registry eligible, must pass registry within one year of accepting additional responsibilities (see addendum). License by state if applicable.
Certification: Must be CPR certified
Working Conditions
Personal Protective Equipment: Must be able to tolerate wearing heavy protective garments for extended period of time.
Physical Demands: Imaging technologists must be able to tolerate possible exposure to radiation and electrical hazards, blood borne pathogens or bodily fluids. Must be able to move about the facility and between workstations and to handle stooping, standing, walking, and lifting as required by the position. Must be able to move, lift, or carry light objects frequently and move with assistance "very heavy" materials and/or patients occasionally.

JOB TITLE : Emergency Room Tech (ERT)
REPORTS TO : Director, Emergency Services
POSITION SUMMARY : Performs basic nursing procedures within the standards of care in acute setting and within the scope of practice. Procedures may include the collection of vital signs, thermal applications, wound care, application of simple dressings, splint application, and assistant the nursing staff. Cleans and prepares rooms between patients and procedures including changing the bed linens and restocking supplies in the rooms. Will be trained how to work as a unit secretary in the Emergency Room as well. Performs all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE : High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of one year acute care experience preferred. Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT or paramedic preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Current BLS certification required. Violence Prevention & De-Escalation certification required within 90 days of hire. California EMT certification required. California Paramedic certification preferred.

The Registered/Certified Behavior Technician works to facilitate educational and behavioral services with children and adults with special needs and collaborates with school professionals and other behavioral specialists to achieve learning and behavioral goals and objectives. The Registered/Certified Behavior Technician can support implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapeutic services.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification and/or State Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) license (as applicable per state/contract)
+ High School diploma or equivalent required
+ Two (2) years relevant experience preferred
+ One year relevant experience preferred
+ Associates degree in behavioral studies or related field preferred
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
