Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
Prepares equipment and supplies.
Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Properly assesses patient condition for the candidate for imaging. Performs necessary clinical and technical safety checks and screening processes, validates reasons for the exam with the patient before scanning, addresses all safety concerns before scanning, and performs red rules to ensure the right patient/right exam/right order. Understand the importance of performing necessary safety/calibration/quality checks per established protocols. Do not image patients without an order or without performing necessary safety, lab, and conflicting exam reviews. Other clinic duties as assigned/where applicable. Qualifications: Associate Degree Must have a NM Computed Tomography License (NMCT) Or NM Computed Tomography Provisional License (NMPCT) ARRT is required. Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing the Kaua'i community with accessible quality health care. The largest medical center on Kaua'i, it is a state-of-the-art acute care facility with a full suite of services offering 30 specialties and programs, including cardiology, emergency, family practice, gastroenterology, health management, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology. Its 18-bed emergency department serves as the island's Primary Stroke Center. The medical center also has four birthing suites, seven intensive care beds and 20 same-day surgery beds. Wilcox is the first American College of Surgeons-verified Level III Trauma Center in the state of Hawai'i. Wilcox is part of Hawai'i Pacific Health, one of the state's leading health care systems and a not-for-profit health care organization with medical centers, clinics, physicians and other caregivers working together to create a healthier Hawai'i. The Imaging department at Wilcox Health, recently named the Wilcox Family Imaging Center, is a full-service department providing routine and specialized imaging and/or therapeutic procedures for inpatient, outpatient and emergency patients. The department is staffed seven days a week, 24-hours-a-day. Board-certified physician radiologists provide quality care and timely interpretation of radiographic procedures. Services provided include General Radiology (X-rays), Computerized Axial Tomography (CAT or CT scan), Ultrasound, Digital Mammography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear medicine, Echocardiography and Bone Densitometry. As the CT Technologist, you will help the Imaging Services department provide quality diagnostic services and care for patients and their families. Your responsibilities include performing computed tomography scans on patients, while working closely with physicians and other hospital staff to ensure that this imaging technology is seamlessly integrated into quality patient care plans. We are looking for someone with a solid understanding of technical and clinical procedure, outstanding communication and patient care skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai'i's people.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must meet education requirements for Hawaii state licensing.
- Current Hawaii Radiologic Technologist license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card.

Preferred:
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT)(R) with the Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
- Registered CT Technologist with the ARRT.
- One (1) year CT Technologist experience.

Position Summary:
Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
Prepares equipment and supplies.
Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and
repeating procedure.
Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Two (2) year certificate, Associate degree and/or Baccalaureate degree.
Licenses: Current Radiation Operator Certificate in the state of Kentucky. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
On-Call Availability: Must accept on call assignments for regularly scheduled shifts and be available to report to facility within 30 minutes of notification. This status will be determined by technologist on duty.
