Our Therapists:

Summary :
Under the supervision of the LPN, RN, or nurse leader, the Patient Care Tech (PCT) performs patient-centered, evidence-based nursing care activities to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the patient. - Part time, non benefited position
- 18 hrs/week
- Rotating schedule (5:30am-6:00pm or 5:30pm-6:00am)
- Every 3rd weekend rotation
- Performs delegated patient care activities using evidence-based practice and specific competencies for the patient population served.
- Checks patients' vital signs, height, and weight, as needed, based on patient type.
- Provides compassionate care and listens to patients' concerns and guides them by answering any questions or concerns.
- Identifies and escalates changes in patient status or patient risks to prevent crisis.
- Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports to care team.
- Repositions, transfers, ambulates and transports patients.
- Assists patients with basic needs (such as hygiene, eating, using the restroom, and dressing).
- Obtains and reports patient intake and output.
- Performs electrocardiograms (ECGs) as directed.
- Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection.
- Provides care that is age appropriate, culturally specific, and developmentally appropriate in an environment that promotes patient safety.
- Demonstrates professional and therapeutic relationships with patients, families, team members, and providers.
- High School diploma or GED preferred• Must be 18 years of age required expect for Peabody Manor, The Heritage or Juliette Manor
- Previous healthcare experience preferred
- American Heart Association HealthCare Provider Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance
- Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform patient care procedures
- Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock
- Occasional high noise level in work environment
- Standing and/or walking for extended periods of time
