About the RoleThe Nuclear Fuels Lead is responsible for establishing and developing the TNC upstream nuclear fuels program. This role maintains the technical aspects of nuclear fuel design, fabrications, and performance, ensuring compliance with regulations, and leading teams to meet project goals. The Nuclear Fuel Lead is responsible for overseeing the procurement, management, and performance of nuclear fuel across the reactor lifecycle. The role ensures nuclear fuel reliability, safety, compliance, and cost-effectiveness to support safe and efficient plant operations.
Responsibilities- Provide technical guidance and expertise on nuclear fuel-related issues, including design, performance, and safety.
- Ensure all activities related to nuclear fuel adhere to relevant regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance procedures.
- Planning, organizing, and executing projects related to nuclear fuel, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Effectively communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Staying engaged in the design and development of new nuclear fuel products or modifications to existing ones, ensuring they meet performance requirements and regulatory standards.
- Overseeing the fabrication process of nuclear fuel, ensuring it is carried out according to specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with NRC requirements.
- Evaluate long-term fuel strategies including LEU, HALEU, or advanced fuel types (as applicable).
- A bachelor's or advanced degree in nuclear engineering or a related field. (Master's preferred)
- 7+ years of experience in nuclear fuel management, core design, or nuclear engineering.
- Experience working with fuel vendors (e.g., Westinghouse, Framatome, GEH, etc.) or enrichment suppliers (e.g., Centrus, Urenco).
- Strong knowledge of nuclear fuel design, fabrication, handling, and safety principles.
- Understanding of relevant nuclear regulations and safety standards.
- Experience performing technical evaluations and providing technical support in the areas of nuclear fuel bundle and core design, reload licensing, cycle management, and core monitoring databanks is a plus.
- Working knowledge of nuclear reactor core licensing, technical specifications, safety margin bases, code methodology licensing, and related federal regulations preferred.
- PE License or advanced degree is preferred

The estimated starting salary range for this role is $179,000 - $203,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company's discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.

**JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Supports the Reactor Engineering, Design Engineering, Systems & Components or Engineering Plant Support department with day to day tasks.
+ Conducts **troubleshooting**
+ Conducts data analysis.
+ Prepares documents, spreadsheets, presentations, interoffice correspondence and copies.
+ Conducts follow-ups in a detailed fashion.
+ Handles multiple assignments and works within deadlines.
+ Is proactive in forwarding work issues to the appropriate managers/supervisors.
+ Supports Reactor Engineering on-shift during power maneuvers.
+ Works in a team.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
**Minimum education required of the position**
Pursing undergrad or master's degree in Nuclear, Electrical, and Mechanical engineering. **GPA of 3.0 or higher.**

**Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position**
General business and accounting knowledge. Self-starter with strong analytical and communication skills; Must be proficient in MS office tools - Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Excellent organizational skills; Strong and positive team attitude and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize work and to handle multiple tasks; Ability to understand scope and objective of each assignment. **Meet access authorization and fitness for duty requirements of a nuclear power station.**
