  • Execute aspects of credentialing, primarily facilitate and liaise paraprofessional certification (e.g. BCAT, RBT or ABAT) process to fulfill health plans’ provider certification requirements 
  • Assist existing clinical staff with National Provider Identifier (NPI) enrollment/management 
  • Oversee and assist with internal Continuing Education Units (CEUs) events

Qualifications and Skills:

SUMMARY

The Certification Specialist is responsible for processing all applicant files for move-in by conducting household interviews, ensuring all information is correctly listed and documented on the application, completing background screenings, obtaining third-party verifications, tracking responses, submitting for approval, and preparing files appropriately for lease and certification signing.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for processing all recertifications and interims by conducting household interviews and ensuring all information is correctly listed and documented on recertifications

  • Begin processing the recertification 120 days before the recertification effective date

  • Ensure all files, both digital and paper, are always properly maintained
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date status of transfer waiting lists and eviction tracker

  • Track of the unit inspections and be available to conduct unit inspections as needed
  • Assist property staff with answering property phone lines
  • Create work orders when a resident notifies your office of maintenance issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills/Abilities
  • Must have compliance experience in the related industry
  • Ability to operate on a deadline-driven schedule and prioritize various tasks
  • Ability to work in a high-volume and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written skills are required
  • Must comply with regulatory agreements and possess critical thinking, evaluation, and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of LIHTC, HOME, and HUD programs is a plus. Compliance certification, such as COS or HCCP, is preferred

  • Evaluates and qualifies companies in the administration of the CSA Category Certification Program and evaluates and qualifies companies in the administration of the CSA Shared Program or other agency programs. Reviews customer test methods and systems; reviews new / old product designs and all applicable documentation. Ensures all test equipment and quality procedures are within guidelines. Provides training and technical briefings on new and existing requirements. Authorizes application and / or removal of the CSA Mark.
  • Provides technical information service to external and internal customers including those forwarded by the Client Service Center. Liaises with customer in design stage to ensure requirements of national / international standards are met without compromising confidentiality.
  • Acts as back up for the Technical Advisor. Provides technical support, specialized training as assigned by Product Group Manager, to staff of CSA, Network Partners, customers or subcontracted independent testing laboratories and ensures technical consistency. Communicates interpretations of requirements to peers and customers. Develops certification practices to solve technical problems involving new technology.
  • Provides technical guidance and training. Answers inquiries regarding standards and legal requirements.

  • May be qualified to perform (CB) Report reviews and conduct Category Audits.
  • Keeps the Product Group Manager / Lead or Assistant Operations Manager informed of project status as required, pointing out major problems and non-compliance.

Starting Wage DOE: $17.15 - 21.44

Responsible for the completion of pre-certification, prior authorization and notification for third party and government payers for all pre-scheduled elective inpatient and outpatient examination and procedures requiring preauthorization. May provide back-up pre-certification/prior authorization resources for other departments as needed. Coordinates/educates physicians, nursing staff and other health care providers on the pre-certification process and requirements. Tracks, documents, and monitors pre-certifications. Implements checks and balance systems to ensure compliance.

Essential Job Functions

• Supports and practices the mission and philosophy of Billings Clinic and Radiology Department.

• Coordinates pre-certification process with provider offices to ensure target goal of 98% of pre-scheduled elective inpatient and outpatient procedures are pre-authorized.

• Documents and maintains patient specific pre-certification/authorization data within the required information systems. Compiles, documents, and tracks monthly pre-certifications using established procedures.

• Keeps undated list. Ensures correct patient status when pre-certifying.

• Reviews CPT-4 codes of required pre-certification and/or authorizations; ensuring Passport pre-certification process is also met.

• Reports denials and/or delays in the pre-certification process to physicians/other health care providers and the patient. May provide information to the patient on the appropriate appeal procedures for denials.

• Responsible for coordinating resolution of varied problem situations and performing necessary investigation and research to resolve pre-certification problems.

• Reports non-compliance issues and/or needs for program expansion to Manager.

• Works closely with Medical Staff, Payer Relations and Patient Financial Services to coordinate needed pre-certification authorizations for in-network services.

• Tracks and verifies receipt of pre-certification authorizations has been received either verbally or written. Communicates status to providers and patients as needed.

• Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with payers and health care providers.

• Reviews, updates and standardizes forms and processes as needed

• Participates in interdepartmental meetings to coordinate efforts, work through processes, and foster communication.

• Develops and maintains reference manuals that outline the individual payer requirements as it relates to pre-certification and pre-authorization needs.

Responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the payer data

• Assists patients/family members with status of pre-certification or re-certification information.

• Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory system/department requirements. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments as it relates to the pre-certification process.

• Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency environmental, employee or patient safety standards relevant to job performance.

• Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Veterans Certification Specialist provides services related to the certification of students to the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) for Educational Benefits. This position is responsible for administrative duties associated with the administration and coordination of student certification and providing assistance to students. The Veterans Certification Specialist reports to the Coordinator of Veterans Affairs.

KNOWLEDGE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understand and comply with rules and regulations of the Department of Veterans Affairs as they relate to the GI Bill and student accessibility.
  • Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of policies of other departments (Registrar, Business Office, Admissions, etc.) and understand the impact on a student's GI Bill eligibility.
  • Maintain knowledge academic program requirements.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accurately enter certification information in compliance with Federal regulations.
  • Accurately calculate adjustments to certifications.
  • Complete and/or file information to meet end of semester reporting requirements.
  • Accurately calculate and reconcile tuition and fee costs for certifications and adjustments and disseminate information as appropriate with the Business office, including Debt Letter tracking.
  • Accurately track Tungsten system approvals and associated notifications and tasks.
  • Work collegially with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with preparation and execution of any events hosted by the Veterans Affairs office.
  • Assist with supervision of student staff, duties associated with the student staff and outstanding delivery of student customer assistance.
  • Participate on university committees as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties necessary to support the mission of Cameron University.
CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure that students are served efficiently with courtesy and respect.
  • Assist students, and their families, with maximizing student aid, entitlements, and other financial resources to make college attendance as affordable as possible.
  • Coordinate Parent School Letter approvals and assist students with the tracking elements.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  2. Proven track record of excellence in customer service.
  3. Ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly, and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  5. Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Prior experience processing VA education benefits

  4. One or more years directly related experience with Oracle and Ellucian (Banner) system.
