**A Brief Summary of This Position:**
This position reports to the Quality Supervisor. The NDT Inspector will evaluate the assembly of fabricated materials by dimensional checks, visual inspection of welds and conduct nondestructive testing by ultrasonic, mag particle, and liquid penetrant processes, with knowledge working under a fully certified Level II Inspector or higher. Working with production supervisors to maintain workflow of the area and report issues to the supervisor. Evaluate examination results and determine if material meets contract specifications. Responsible for generating and maintaining NDT reports and records for company and contractors.
***THIS POSITION REQUIRES THE CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE LISTED BELOW FOR** **BOTH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CANDIDATES** ***
**Candidates with higher level NDT Experience and Certifications will be considered for the level of NDT Inspector for which they are currently qualified.**
**Work Schedule: 1st Shift (Days)**
**Sunday - Thursday 7AM-3PM**
Starting Hourly Pay Rate:
Associate Level: $27.75
Intermediate Level: $3.43
Senior Level: 36.66
Advanced Level (CWI Required): 38.86
Opportunity for step pay increases at 90 days, 1 year & 2 years
**Essential Functions:**
+ Responsible for testing and evaluation, with absolute integrity, of products to ensure conformance to company and customer specifications
+ Make decisions in the area of codes (includes AWS D1.1) and specifications under the guidance of a NDT Inspector - Intermediate
+ Interprets reports for NDT and evaluates quality acceptance under the guidance of a fully certified NDT Inspector - Intermediate
+ Use authority to reject material, stop work in process etc. to minimize financial loss and risk of customer dissatisfaction
+ Works under production conditions with accurate performance and completion of work within set time limits
+ Maintains accountable and responsible for essential tools and equipment provided along with the maintenance of these tools and equipment
+ Actively participates in department safety, demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures
+ Maintains timely and consistent attendance
+ Travels 30% of work time to other facilities
+ Other duties as necessary or directed/assigned
**Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):**
+ High School diploma and 5+ years of work/educational experience or Associates Degree with 2+ years experience or Bachelors Degree
+ 2 years experience in fabricated steel environment(s)
+ Ability to perform basic mathematic calculations, including conversion of fractions to decimals
+ Ability to use basic measuring tools, such as tape measures, calipers, fillet weld gauges, and levels (digital and conventional) to ensure dimensional accuracy
+ Level I NDT certifications or be able to obtain Level I certification within 90 days
+ Ability to operate NDT testing equipment
+ Ability to work effectively with plant employees, supervisors, management and customers
+ Ability to prioritize work in order to complete deadlines
+ Must also be able to work through problems with the minimum amount of assistance from the lead person or supervisor
+ Ability to work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on-time result without errors
+ A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
**Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:**
+ 4 years experience in fabricated steel environment(s)
+ Associate Degree in NDT from an accredited school
+ SNT-TC-1A NDT Level I in UT and Mag Particle
+ Competence in basic quality assurance disciplines including the use of dimensional inspection and gauging equipment
+ NDT (non-destructive testing) experience
+ Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
**Working Environment and Physical Efforts:**
Work is typically performed in a manufacturing plant environment and the incumbent needs to be able to move about the office, shipping area and all areas of the plant which are producing product line for the company. There is a relatively constant exposure to somewhat disagreeable work conditions such as dust, dirt, heat, fumes, and cold as well as noise levels above 80 decibels. Work conditions vary throughout the week depending on the area of the plant assigned to work in. There will be visits to both indoor and outdoor locations during all seasons of the year.
Many of the tasks are physical and the incumbent has to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. although the most frequent amount of weight lifted is 20 lbs. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The incumbent is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, as well as balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

**What you'll do**
As a Certified Automotive State Inspector (Certified Automotive Emissions & Safety Inspector or Certified Automotive Smog Inspector) you will help drive the continued success of VIOC by providing reliable and impeccable preventive maintenance service. You will act as a trusted advisor to our customers, evaluating their needs and performing maintenance to keep their vehicle serviced and safe on the road.
+ Perform state, smog, safety and/or emissions inspections for our guests
+ Perform automotive preventive maintenance such as changing oil, checking and refilling other vehicle fluids, replacing filters, and inspecting and replacing lights and wipers
+ Master products, services, and company knowledge
+ Maintain a clean, well-organized service center and facilitate a safe and secure working environment
+ Evaluate customers' needs, working quickly and efficiently
**How you'll succeed**
+ Have a valid certification to perform automotive state, safety, emissions and/or smog inspections

**Plasma Classification Certified Inspector**
**2nd Shift - Monday - Thursday 1:30pm - 12:00am**
Position requires scanning and removal of unsuitable plasma units utilizing the Plasma Management System (SGP). A visual inspection of plasma units is also performed, removing any units which are unacceptable (e.g. damaged, broken port/tube, RBC, or backup sample rejections). Employee must be able to perform secondary verifications and Perform end of PU line clearances.
**Responsibilities**
+ Scanning of plasma units assigned to a PU utilizing a barcode reader.
+ Scanning of archive samples assigned to a SA utilizing a barcode reader.
+ Transferring units to a Sub-shipment during the PU process.
+ Entering "Statistics" during the PU process.
+ Sub-shipment verification at the end of the PU process.
+ "Blocking" of units which do not meet customer requirements.
+ Responsible for various rejections found during visual inspection.
+ Removal of unsuitable plasma units marked for removal in SGP during the PU process.
+ Able to maintain record accountability.
+ Able to perform job duties with minimum supervision.
+ Ability to follow written procedures.
+ Monitoring plasma time out of freezer
+ Department housekeeping and safety practices
+ Processing of unsuitable plasma units during any step of the plasma process.
+ Transfer of unsuitable plasma units (status 100) to correct reject inventory
+ Transferring units between PU/LOT to a PU.
+ Ability to consistently meet department average throughput.
+ Knowledge of SGP Status codes and Disposition Codes.
+ Knowledge of labeling Requirements.
+ Scanning of case/units to a 3rd party sale utilizing Disposition Module.
+ Scanning of case/units to a MDO process utilizing Disposition Module.
+ Completing the partial PU cases between PU's.
+ Line Clearance at the end of a Plasma Process.
**Requirements**
+ High School diploma or equivalent.
+ Two years' experience in Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical or other FDA licensed Industry is desirable.
+ Knowledge of cGMPs and Industry Standards.
+ Ability to follow "Standard Operating Procedures".
+ Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
+ Possess basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication).
+ Basic Computer skills.
**Occupational Demands**
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with rotating shifts. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to chemicals, electrical manufacturing equipment, hand tools and moving machinery. Exposure to high levels of noise and to extreme cold below 32*. Occasional entry into confined spaces requiring kneeling and squatting. Operates forklifts, tractors and power equipment. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, safety shoes, gloves and garments. Work is performed standing and walking for 6-8 hours per day. Bending and twisting neck and waist for 6-8 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. The Certified Weld Inspector is responsible for ensuring compliance with industry codes, project specifications, and safety standards.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

+ Inspect welds and materials per AWS, ASME, API standards
+ Develop and manage welding QC plans and documentation
+ Review WPS, PQR, and WPQ

+ Support training and resolve quality issues
**PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
+ Degree in Welding Tech or Mechanical Engineering
+ Experience in HVAC or piping systems
+ AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
+ 3-5 years of welding QC experience in construction
+ Knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME IX, API 1104
+ Familiarity with NDT methods (RT, UT, MT, PT)
