As a result of continued growth within our CFO Advisory practice, we are currently seeking a Manager for our national team that will have the flexibility to sit in of any of our offices or work remotely with travel for specific projects as needed. Our practice's industry-focused teams (Financial Services; Industrial & Consumer Goods; Private Equity; Professional Services; Real Estate, Construction & Hospitality Technology & Life Sciences) provide turn-key solutions from past experience to create long-term solutions for their current needs with a forward-looking lens of the future.
**As a Manager, you will:**
+ Assist with financial close when needed as well as improve financial statement close processes
+ Assistance with Cash to Accrual accounting, open balance sheet preparation and purchase accounting
+ Assist with Audit Readiness
+ Lead technical accounting projects on matters, such as IPO/SPAC, ASC 480, 606, 718, 805 or 815, as well as SEC reporting
+ Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, reconciliations, month-end close, accounting memos, and audit schedules for public filings (10-Q or 10-K)
**What you bring to the role:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA license (active or in process)
+ Five (5) or more years of experience within a public accounting firm and/or industry environment performing audit, accounting or consulting services for SEC registered public companies required
+ Proven experience and interest in technical accounting matters, such as
+ Exposure to Cash to GAAP conversions, IFRS to US GAAP conversions, and SEC reporting
+ Strong organizational skills including experience with planning and leading a project from start to finish
+ Capable of managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously while working independently and within a group environment
+ Robust written and verbal communication skills, including ability to adapt style and messaging to effectively communicate with professionals at all levels both within the client organization and the firm
+ Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, with a focus on details and accuracy
+ Travel as needed for firm meetings and client site visits up to 35%
**Additional, preferred qualifications include:**
+ Experience working with accounting departments
+ Experience in an environment with SAP, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Workday, Yardi, or Quickbooks
+ SEC reporting experience using software, such as Workiva, Toppan Merrill or DFIN
+ Experience implementing and using Workiva, OneStream, or FloQast
+ Demonstrated use of analyzing large data sets using tools such as Alteryx, Tableau and/or Python

GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE JOB
Under limited supervision, this position performs high-level leadership, managerial and financial responsibilities over the citys financial operations. This position is an appointed position and serves at the pleasure of the City Manager.Reports to City Manager or designee.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for the overall management of the citys fiscal operations, budget administration and monitoring. and to ensure cost effectiveness; ensures purchasing and financial transactions are properly conducted in accordance with city administrative policies and procedures; participates on the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Committee, and coordinates preparation of documents for bond issues; conducts periodic internal audits or review of all funds and departments.
Responsible for providing oversight over the areas of accounting, budget, payroll, workers compensation, procurement and risk management, and leads and coordinates long-range fiscal planning, the preparation of annual budget, and capital improvement and financial planning.
Provides leadership and strategic direction for developing, administering and communicating city financial and department policies and procedures to meet overall city goals and objectives, to meet legal requirements, promote cost effectiveness, responsiveness to both management and employees, and to attract, retain, and develop a highly qualified, motivated and effective workforce.
Responsible for preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) in a timely manner.
Plans and directs the citys debt management program, to include determining the structure of special financing; selects and works with underwriters as needed, and provides assistance to the citys bond counsel to ensure compliance with the Virginia Public Finance Act bond covenants and MSRB; establishes and maintains relationships with the citys financial advisor (s) and rating agencies; serves as an ex-officio member of the citys Retirement Board; may serve as the custodian of all retirement funds; manages relationships with retirement money managers and actuary and retirement system advisors, authorizes and manages cashflow and disbursement of city funds in accordance with officially established procedures.
Develops proposals and reports as requested by the City Manager, and ensures reports, studies, presentations and plans are appropriately processed in accordance with federal, state, and city laws and ordinances.
Performs other related work as required. Individual assignments will be determined by supervisor based on current workload and department needs.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Requires a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or a related field, 10+ years of progressive financial management experience in a government setting; and 3 - 5 years of managerial supervisory experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Designation as a Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) by Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and/or a designation as a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) by Association of Government Accountants (AGA) is preferred.
An acceptable general background check to include a local, state and federal criminal history check.

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is the senior executive responsible for the overall management of all financial functions for the organization, its affiliates and managed properties. Reporting to the President, the CFO provides strategic direction, ensures robust financial controls, optimizes capital deployment, and partners with operational leaders to deliver exceptional value to clients, residents and team members.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct financial planning, capital allocation and liquidity management to support company growth and mission objectives.
- Manage and invest corporate and client cash; oversee banking relationships and debt compliance.
- Partner with the other leaders on M&A, new acquisitions, financing structures and closings.
