Medical-Surgical/TelemetryRegistered Nurse (RN )
The Med-Surg/Telemetry RN is a skilled and compassionatenursing professional responsible for delivering comprehensive care to adultpatients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac monitoring needs.This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability tomanage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The RNcollaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff toensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
EssentialDuties and Responsibilities
+ Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for adult patients with diverse medical, surgical, and telemetry needs
+ Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical exams, health histories, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
+ Monitor telemetry and respond to cardiac rhythm changes, alarms, and arrhythmias
+ Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed
+ Monitor and document patient responses to interventions and changes in condition
+ Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and adjust individualized care plans
+ Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, procedures, and surgeries
+ Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including wound care, pain management, and mobility support
+ Educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, discharge instructions, and self-care
+ Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
+ Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards
+ Respond promptly to emergencies such as rapid deterioration, arrhythmias, falls, or code situations
+ Support patient advocacy and uphold patient rights and confidentiality
MinimumRequirements
+ Current Registered Nurse License in the state of practice
+ Minimum one year of professional nursing experience; Med-Surg/Telemetry experience preferred
+ Completion of Amergis' Competency Program (if applicable)
+ Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
+ Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
+ TB screening and health clearance (as required by contract or regulation)
+ Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
+ Successful completion of new hire orientation and Med-Surg/Tele training
+ Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
+ Strong communication skills and proficiency in English
+ Basic computer literacy
+ Must be at least 18 years of age

**Job Description Summary:**
Provides pastoral counseling and spiritual support to patients, family members/significant others and staff throughout the hospital. Usually this involves development of a "parish" within the hospital. Actively serves as a member of an ecumenical pastoral care staff sharing in activities such as staff meetings, on-call responsibilities, and providing hospital wide worship experiences. Two or more units of clinical pastoral education (ACPE, NACC, CASC) required.
**Responsibilities And Duties:**

Provides direct patient care as requested for emergent and routine requests. Assesses spiritual needs/concerns of patients and their families using clinical pastoral conversation. Communicates and documents patient responses to determine the effectiveness and congruence with plan of care

Participates in on-call rotation which may include overnight or weekend shifts. .

Provides appropriate religious/spiritual rituals, non-pharmacological interventions to patients, families, and interprofessional team. Acts as a liaison with the patients faith group/leaders including other community or cultural resources.

Demonstrates knowledge of medical ethics and legal issues including advance care planning, organ donation, futility of care, and patient rights. Acts as a primary contact for ethics concerns and formal consultations.

Provides care in diverse acute/non-acute settings including but not limited t o hospital, outpatient areas, extended care facilities, and homes.

The Associate Staff Chaplain (P/T, Casual) provides spiritual care and ministerial duties in diverse clinical settings, including hospitals, outpatient areas, extended care facilities and homes.
The role supports the provision of spiritual care through professional standards of practice, research, and education as it pertains to their assigned patient population.
The Primary Location for this Position will be Grady Memorial Hospital. The Associate hired for this position will also be trained for other OhioHealth Care sites, including Dublin Methodist Hospital.
