**What role you will play in our team**
Our Chemical Process Engineers play a pivotal role in the successful operation of our plants and are responsible for initiating and leading improvements to unit performance in safety, production, and reliability in a dynamic team environment. You will think strategically, execute thoughtfully, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations. In this role, you will serve as a process technical resource, providing technical and operational expertise to address complex processes across business teams.
Process Engineers serve primarily to set longer term visons for unit performance and troubleshooting in addition to supporting day-to-day activities.
**What you will do**
Serve as a technical leader by:
+ Mentor less experienced engineers on design practices, unit health monitoring, and troubleshooting
+ Provide support of abnormal and non-routine operations, including unit Turnarounds
+ Aid in the development of long term vision and strategy for product line improvements
+ Organize and design plant testing and product trials
+ Influence others and drive toward solutions without direct authority
+ Work in a team environment with other engineering disciplines, operations, and mechanical personnel and interface with corporate technology support
+ Ability to interface with 3rd party vendors (cost optimizations as well as developing/driving solutions)
+ Lead/support incident investigations as technical lead
+ Provide support for developing and implementing various capital projects to drive margin or mitigate SHE risk
+ Provide assistance in the field during plant startups, shutdowns or upsets
+ Demonstrate courage of conviction to drive healthy tension for both business team and corporate technology support to promote fit for purpose outcome
**About you**

+ 3-10 years of experience in refining and/or chemicals manufacturing roles

We're looking for a Chemical Process Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients' business. Join us and you'll have the chance to work on projects including state-of-the-art industrial and commercial facilities. You'll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client's expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. Your multi-discipline, highly interactive team will establish process design basis, develop process options and optimizations of selected design, and calculate and organize data for process flow sheets. As a Chemical Process Engineer, you will:
* Perform conceptual and detailed design for advanced manufacturing facilities.
* Use best practices and industry knowledge to solve complex engineering problems.
* Interface with other disciplines, project management, and the client to provide fully coordinated projects.
* Support field construction efforts, including reviewing submittals, responding to questions from clients and contractors, and performing field walks.
* Perform quality reviews on designs performed by others.
* Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on basic engineering applications and principles.
* Participate in the development of proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific work.

* Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
* At least 8 years of chemical process engineering experience in manufacturing
* Engineer in Training (EIT/FE)
Ideally, you'll also have:
* Professional Engineer (PE) license
* Experience in the design of semiconductor facilities
* Strong communication skills both verbal and written

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and optimize chemical manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to process performance, equipment, and product quality.
  • Conduct process simulations and modeling to evaluate potential improvements and new designs.
  • Monitor process parameters and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control procedures.
  • Collaborate with R&D, operations, and maintenance teams to support new product introductions and process upgrades.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
