Chemours is seeking a Chemical Engineer to join our growing Manufacturing Technology team. This position will be available at the Corpus Christi Plant located in San Patricio County in Ingleside, Texas and report directly to the Manufacturing Technology Manager .
The Chemours Corpus Christi site is part of the Thermal & Specialized Solutions Business and focuses on the production of a variety of refrigerant gases. The site is a multi-unit manufacturing site with several existing well-established product lines as well as a recently built Low GWP production line aligning with growing market demand. The manufacturing technology group at this facility encompasses over 20 professionalsof various specialties (ChEs, MEs and EEs).
This role will serve as a Support Engineer for one or more areas of the Chemours Assets at this facility. The individual will provide overall Process Engineering guidance and support for the Operations, Maintenance, and Technology Teams for their area(s). This role will involve day-to-day troubleshooting in the plant, as well as support for improvement programs in the areas of Safety (PSM), UPTIME, reliability, cost, new capital installations, etc. The operating units are highly hazardous processes (OSHA PSM Covered Processes).

- To provide engineering and troubleshooting assistance to the site’s unit processes, including all synthesis, refining, storage, and shipping operations to maintain and improve the safety, operability, quality, and cost.
- Monitor the process on an on-going basis to look for positive and negative shifts in the process, to identify improvement opportunities. Uptime Software, Aspen Process Explorer software and statistical process control would routinely be used to do this.
- Leads and participates in Safety, Reliability and Quality Investigations to identify and implement actions to drive continuous improvement.
- Provides support for both cost and capital projects to improve the safety, quality, environment, and/or cost of the production unit. This includes generating Basic Data, providing economic justification, participation in FEL activities and coordinating installation and commissioning of new/modified facilities.
- Participate in and lead Process Hazards Analyses per the schedule set out for the assigned process.
- Perform tests on the process to improve the safety, quality, environment, and/or cost of the production unit.
- Maintain level of technical expertise in key technologies via training, seminars, and professional organizations.
- Provide shift/weekend coverage as needed for start-ups, tests, maintenance Turnarounds, operator training, or other non-routine needs. Travel requirements are <10>
Required Qualifications and Characteristics:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- Minimum 1 year experience working in a Chemical/Industrial Manufacturing and/or engineering environment (will constitute up to 6 months experience of internship work).
- Knowledge of basic chemical engineering principles.
- Ability to diagnose and solve technical problems - making data-based decisions.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to effectively communicate through all levels of an organization.
- High degree of initiative and flexibility to move projects forward safely and in a timely manner.
- Ability to prioritize and manage short duration deadlines, emergency situations, and multiple priorities.
- Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators, etc.

Chemical Loaders at this site are responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of liquid hazardous materials into railcars and trucks while following all company and customer procedures.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Must follow all OSHA safety standards and be safety conscious.
- Must possess and maintain an active Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card and valid Driver's License with reliable means of transportation to and from work.
- Must be 18 years of age and legally able to work in the US
- Demonstrated stable work history with positive references from previous employers, indicating reliability and competence.
- Successfully pass drug screening test as well as physical and background check.
- Ensure that railcars and/or trucks are correctly positioned and secured at the loading rack before initiating the transfer process. Check the last product contained in the vehicle for compatibility with the current loading operation.
- Conduct a visual inspection of the railcar and/or truck to identify any defects or mechanical issues that may pose safety hazards or regulatory non-compliance. Ensure that the vehicle is safe to load before proceeding.
- Wear all the required protective clothing and equipment, including respirators and fresh air equipment, as necessary to ensure personal safety during the product transfer process.
- Connect loading equipment and transfers according to established procedures, utilizing gauges, automated systems, or strapping tables as applicable.
- Monitor the weight of the product before and after transfer to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) certification requirements. Prevent outages or innages from exceeding specified limits.
- Maintain open communication with site leaders or supervisors, promptly reporting any problems or issues encountered during the loading process.
- Safely disconnect loading equipment from the railcar and/or truck upon completion of the transfer. Inspect for any leaks or abnormalities and complete all required paperwork before releasing the vehicle.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the site leader or supervisor, contributing to the efficient and safe operation of the loading facility.

**What You'll Do:**
- Set-up, build and maintain laboratory process equipment (reactor systems, pumps, evaporators etc.) and instruments.
- Troubleshoot equipment/instrument and keep it available for Chemists/Engineers when needed
- Evaluate new equipment, vendors to solve unique problems that help advance process development
- Design/fabricate/build highly customized equipment/systems to address unique challenges that arise in experimental set ups
- Assist scientists and engineers in conducting chemical experiments as well as developing and producing active ingredients and processes.
- Perform tests and analyze active ingredients to make sure that they meet standards and specifications.
- Observe and conduct chemical and physical experiments, tests and analyses.
- Prepare reports, charts and graphs.
- Work under the supervision of chemists or chemical engineers.
- Adjust processing equipment to improve process efficiency and output.
- Collect samples from production batches and test for impurities and defects.
- Candidates should have strong knowledge and inclination for mechanical systems in addition to general knowledge of various laboratory techniques.
**What Skills You Need:**
- A minimum of 2-3 years' work experience in a mechanical/machinery/fabrication settings
- Willing to continually learn and adhere to all safety standards
- Ability to comprehend knowledge of mechanical/process equipment, analytical systems as well as related software
- Strong inclination to build complex chemical/mechanical systems using off the shelf as well as custom designed parts and troubleshoot them as necessary
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Comfort working with glassware and metal systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Able to work within an empowered team environment.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Previous experience in a process chemistry laboratory would be preferred.
- Hands-on experience with a variety of synthetic chemistry laboratory and analytical instruments.
- Experience with compression fittings used for high pressure applications
- Experience with Chromatography Data Systems, Lab Information Management Systems and other tools such as an electronic logbook.
- A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks

Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Type: 6 month Contract
Compensation: $28.00 hourly
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Hours: M-F 6-2:30; with additional weekend work and on-call once trained. (At the manager's discretion)
System One is currently seeking a Chemical Technician on a 6 month contract position located in Atlanta, GA.
Chemical Tech Responsibilities:
+ Performing technical and analytical services essential to the operation of a fossil fuel power plant, including:
+ Working safely and being accountable for your safety and the safety of your coworkers
+ Provide chemical protection of the steam generating equipment to minimize outages due to corrosion and deposits in the steam/water cycle components
+ Minimize the loss of efficiency and possible replacement of water treatment, steam generating, condensing and turbine mechanical components
+ Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable environmental, safety and health regulations: ash pond inspections, dikes and wells reporting, drinking water reporting, etc.
+ Operate and maintain water treatment plant for production of de-ionized/ultra-pure water
+ Conduct sampling of water, boiler/turbine cleaning samples, oil, coal ash, and metal deposits
+ Perform analytical testing and monitor plant effluents
+ Perform analytical testing and monitoring of Flue Gas Desulphurization (scrubber)
+ Calibrate and maintain laboratory and on-line equipment and instrumentation
+ Maintain bulk chemical and laboratory supplies inventory
+ Assist regulatory compliance personnel to help ensure compliance with applicable environmental, safety and health regulations
+ Operate condensate polishers
+ Provide equipment clearances - according to the plant clearance procedure
+ Operate and maintain sewage treatment plants
+ Perform duties in the main lab
+ Perform QA/QC on instrumentation
+ Maintain and calibrate bench top instrumentation
+ Inventory lab equipment and reagent chemicals
+ Perform duties in the Water Analysis labs
+ Generate water quality reports
+ Collect regulatory water samples
+ Conduct air in leakage surveys
+ Ensure all laboratory areas meet housekeeping standards outlined by the plant
Chemical Tech Requirements:
+ Possess a valid driver's license
+ BS or BA degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or a related discipline (minimum of 12 semester hours of chemistry) required
+ Experience and competency in the use, calibration and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation/equipment
+ Knowledge of proper analytical methods and techniques is required
+ Previous experience in large water treatment facility is preferred. This would include operating and maintaining clarification, filtration, reverse osmosis and de-ionization systems
+ Broad knowledge of analytical, inorganic, oil, environmental and water chemistries required
+ High level of knowledge of chemical treatment methods and operation of water treatment plant is preferred.
+ Collect samples from inside the power plant and water treatment plant; Analyze water and ash samples.
+ Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems, read and understand schematic diagrams and identify plant water process problems is preferred.
+ Perform QA/QC on instrumentation; Maintain and calibrate bench top instrumentation.
+ Proficiency in various Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
+ Ability to understand mechanical and electrical theories and fundamentals
+ Ability to read and interpret information presented in graphic form (examples are blueprints, diagrams, drawings, graphs and plots)
+ Understanding handling requirement of hazardous materials (HAZMAT)
+ Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver's license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver's license).
+ Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.

Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Compounder to join our team. The role involves performing chemical synthesis on a multi-kilo scale, ensuring compliance with GMP standards, and working closely with Chemical Engineers to produce R&D API. This position offers an exciting opportunity to advance within the group, either on the Chemistry or Production side.
Responsibilities
+ Perform chemical synthesis on a multi-kilo scale and execute via batch record.
+ Maintain documentation standards to meet GMP requirements, including recording charges/transfers and documenting key observations.
+ Set up, operate, and clean all plant equipment, including reactors, centrifuges, filter dryers, shelf dryers, and milling equipment.
+ Participate in staging raw materials, loading materials into equipment, and unloading intermediates and products from dryers.
+ Read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively in a group setting.
+ Collaborate with Chemical Engineers to produce R&D API.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associates or Bachelor's degree in chemistry or engineering preferred.
+ Experience in a production facility (chemical, pharmaceutical, or food) preferred.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office and SAP.
+ Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds and use a respirator.
+ Willingness to undergo annual physical and drug screening.
+ Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and working with reactors is a plus.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
