Job Description

Mantech seeks a highly motivated and collaborative DevOps Engineer to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD

This position will support the development, deployment, and sustainment of secure backend and infrastructure services in a mission-driven enterprise environment. You will be part of the Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization responsible for MPO’s foundational Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) platform, enabling enterprise-wide capabilities for a global user base.
 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure infrastructure in Kubernetes environments using GitOps workflows with Flux, Kudectl, and Kustomize
  • Integrate and manage service mesh technologies such as Istio for secure traffic flow and observability
  • Support containerization pipelines using Docker and automate builds with Maven
  • Manage system documentation and inventories across the lifecycle to ensure compliance and traceability
  • Conduct development and troubleshooting within Linux environments and support script-based automation using Python
  • Collaborate with software developers and security analysts to align infrastructure support with secure coding and authorization needs
  • Address POAMs (Plan of Action and Milestones) related to IAVA/IAVAx findings and support remediation actions
     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of related experience OR associate’s degree with 15 years OR high school diploma/GED with 20 years of experience
  • Experience with scripting and analysis skills in Python using Linux-based development environments
  • Strong background in containerization with Docker and infrastructure automation using Maven
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, and IDEA IDE for agile collaboration.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing Kubernetes clusters with Istio and Rancher
  • General DevOps Knowledge
  • Proficiency with Git/GitLab
  • Experience using Flux, Kudectl, and Kustomize
  • Familiarity with streaming and caching tools such as Kafka and Redis
     

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph
     

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
