Vercel gives developers the tools and cloud infrastructure to build, scale, and secure a faster, more personalized web. As the team behind v0, Next.js, and AI SDK, Vercel helps customers like Ramp, Supreme, PayPal, and Under Armour build for the AI-native web.
Our mission is to enable the world to ship the best products. That starts with creating a place where everyone can do their best work. Whether you're building on our platform, supporting our customers, or shaping our story: You can just ship things.
About the Role:
CI/CD is the beating heart of Vercel . Whether you're previewing a new idea from v0 or shipping the next great thing to production, every customer builds - and millions of builds flow through our systems every day .
As a Software Engineer on the CI/CD team, you'll work on the infrastructure that powers these builds at scale. You'll improve performance, enhance reliability, and evolve the systems that developers rely on to deliver fast, iterative workflows. This role blends product thinking with deep systems work - you'll be building features that serve both internal teams and Vercel's global developer community.
We're looking for engineers who are excited to work on high-scale systems, love improving the developer experience, and want to have a direct impact on how software gets shipped on the web.
If you're based within a pre-determined commuting distance of one of our offices (SF, NY, London, or Berlin), the role includes in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. If you're located beyond that distance, the role is fully remote. For location-specific details, please connect with our recruiting team.
What You Will Do:
- Build high-performance microservices that power the entire deployment lifecycle-from handling webhooks to designing database schemas and building scalable APIs.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for the Vercel build pipeline.
- Improve the Deployments user interface.
- Identify opportunities and lead projects to enhance performance, reliability, and developer experience of CI/CD on Vercel.
- Improve the developer experience for both small projects and large monorepos.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in CI/CD technologies, bringing innovative ideas to the team.
- Engage with the open-source community, participate in discussions, and contribute to related projects, aligning with Vercel's commitment to giving back to the developer community.
- Write clean, efficient, tested, and well-documented code.
- 3-5 years of experience building full-stack applications.
- You have experience designing and maintaining APIs and distributed systems.
- You have experience building intuitive user interfaces using modern frontend frameworks like React or Svelte.
- You have strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with modern frontend development tools.
- You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, and are eager to learn.
- You have opinions about how to architect scalable codebases.
- Are a React or Next.js expert.
- Have worked to develop a CI/CD platform for other developers to use.
- Have experience contributing to, or participating in open source projects.
- Competitive compensation package, including equity.
- Inclusive Healthcare Package.
- Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
- Flexible Time Off.
- We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.
The New York, NY base pay range for this role is $156,000 - $270,000. This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation.
