• As a Backplane Design Engineer, you will: Design low to medium complexity backplanes based on customer specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with customers, electrical engineers, and designers to define optimal product specifications. Modify PCB layouts and ensure signal integrity in high-speed designs.

What You'll Do

• Develop PCB designs based on customer input and industry standards (VITA, PICMG).
• Design custom high-speed backplanes (VME/64X, VXS, VPX, cPCI, ATCA) with DFM principles.
• Prepare backplane schematics, check plots, and Gerber files while ensuring compliance with Elmas ISO processes.
• Interface with customers, PCB fabrication shops, and manufacturing/testing personnel.
• Participate in design reviews and troubleshoot engineering challenges.

This is a hands-on, high-impact opportunity where your focus on detail and problem-solving skills will directly contribute to the reliability of mission-critical aerospace systems.

As a Circuit Board Testing Technician, you'll work on-site in Lenexa, KS in either 1st Shift (5:00 AM3:30 PM, MonThurs) or 2nd Shift (2:30 PM11:00 PM, MonFri). In this role, you'll test, troubleshoot, and help ensure the performance of complex electronic circuit boards used in aerospace applications. This is a 6-month consulting position with weekly pay and a 6,000 retention and sign-on bonus package!

What You'll Be Doing Daily

• Perform manual and automated testing of circuit boards
• Plug in and inspect components with precision and care
• Troubleshoot faulty boards and rework components as needed
• Develop or follow test plans and procedures
• Build test fixtures and generate test reports
• Collaborate with engineering and QA teams to ensure quality standards are met

Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience or training in basic electronics, testing, or production environments
• Keen attention to detail and steady hands for component handling
• Ability to follow technical instructions and meet quality standards

Job Description

Summary:

Assembles electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) according to specifications by performing the following duties:

Duties :

1. Reads worksheets and wiring diagrams, receives verbal instruction, or follows sample board to determine assembly duties, and select components, such as transistors, resistors, relay, capacitors, and integrated circuits.
2. Twists, bends, trims, strips or files wire leads of components or reams holes in boards to insert wire leads.
3. Inserts color-coded wires in designated holes and clinches wire ends. Press-fits (mounts) component leads into board.
4. Places plastic isolating sleeves around specified wire leads of components and shrinks sleeves into place.
5. Crimps wire leads on underside of board.
6. Applies sealer or making compound to selected parts of board to protect parts from effects of wave solder process.
7. Solder wire leads and joints on underside of board to route and connect wires to board and between individual components.
8. Installs heat sinks, sockets, faceplates and accessories on boards.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

• Education/ Experience: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Ability: Read and understand English.
• Math Ability: Good Math and analytical skills.
• Reasoning Skills: Able to Read and interpret written instructions.

The PCB Assembler will assemble electronic components onto printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) according to company specifications. The assembler will use various hand and power tools, wiring diagrams, hand solder, and follow sample boards to determine assembly duties. Given the complex nature of the products, there will be significant hands-on training and interaction with various Magna-Power teams.

The PCB Assembler is responsible for:

• Preparing set-up, forming, and staging of various components for PCB assembly

• Soldering through hole components and wiring assemblies

• Operating automation machinery (wire fabrication, SMT pick & place, 3D-AOI)

• Performing visual inspection of assemblies to IPC-standards

• Assembling PCBs by following BOMs, schematics, and diagrams

• Working in a push line assembly process to combine tasks and effectively maximize labor efforts

The education and experience for this position includes:

• High school diploma or GED

• Minimum 1-2 years related experience and/or training

• Good mechanical aptitude and accurate use of various hand and power tools

• Capable of using different hand and tabletop tools related to manufacturing of PCBA's

• Execution of GDP in a manufacturing environment .

• Knowledge and understanding of BOMs, assembly drawings and any other related manufacturing documents is preferred
