**The Role**
The Lumen Strategic Technologies Partnership team is at the forefront of industry and AI transformations. We are seeking a dynamic Industry Strategist with deep industry expertise in financial services vertical (FSI). As the FSI Strategist, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing Lumen's industry strategy, identifying market gaps, and driving growth through industry priority scenarios and innovative solutions enabled by Lumen + partners. This position requires a senior, visionary thought leader who can navigate a transforming technology & business landscape to motivate both an industry and its strategic partners, to create scaling value through industry narratives and solutions.
This role drives growth and will initially focus on developing and validating an industry strategy, quickly moving into developing a full set of field ready assets to enable high impact industry solutions in conjunction with strategic partners, including integrated software vendors (ISV), systems integrators (SI), and Hyperscale partnerships, that deliver strategic joint value to our mutual customers. This role is equally responsible for driving awareness through thoughtful internal and external awareness campaigns out the thought leadership and industry narratives you developed, drive go-to-market motions, and pairing our partners with Lumen direct sellers to co-sell customer deals.
The ideal candidate must possess a deep understanding of the financial services industry. The candidate must possess strong relationship-building skills and ideally a proven track record in strategic planning and execution with partner organizations.
**The Main Responsibilities**
+ **Industry Strategy:** Bring experience and knowledge to develop a financial services industry specific strategy that best positions Lumen's portfolio in concert with partners, creating Lumen's point of view and narrative for the industry, industry priority pillars, customer scenarios and industry solutions. The strategy output will be scaled through awareness campaigns.
+ **Strategic Partnership:** Collaborate with the entire Lumen team including our team's field CTO, our Global Partnership teams, and our Product teams to land and scale our industry priority scenarios.
+ **Ecosystem Engagement:** Engage with our partner ecosystem to identify and scale our strategic and market-moving partners. You will play a pivotal role in enabling priority scenarios by mutual value creation and driving partner enablement to support Cosell motions that leads to market expansion.
+ **GTM Planning:** Develop a clear Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy and execution plan for industry priority scenarios. Execution plan includes generating awareness, acquiring customers, identifying target audience, analyze competitors and prepare differentiated points of view.

**Compensation**
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compliance Management: Read and develop full understanding of business and financial terms and conditions of grant, contract, and/or clinical trial agreement.Maintain compliance with allowable costs, period of performance, subrecipient monitoring, tracking cost share and program income, effort reporting, reporting, other special test provisions, cash management invoicing, and clinical trial billing compliance.Keep current on compliance with federal, state, local, private sponsors, and other agency regulation including Uniform Guidance. Evaluates and maintains business processes in support of post-award management.

  • Invoicing, Accounting Receivable, and Cash Management: Develop full understanding of payment terms and payment schedule as outline in the grant, contract and/or clinical agreement terms. Promptly invoice and timely follow-up on outstanding payments owed. Ensure proper recording cash against programs. Ability to independently troubleshoot, analyze, and problem solve payment variances and queries with Sponsor ensuring positive cash flow. Ability to setup and work within Sponsor portals to setup payment profiles, submit invoices, and retrieve payment backup as needed.

  • Month-end Close: Maintains processes and prepares journal entries to support the monthly close process and the generation of the monthly financial statements/reports. Ensures all financial transactions/entries are properly documented and completed timely.Ensures all financial transactions/entries agree with GAAP, Uniform Guidance, and with institutional policies and procedures.Possesses expertise with the institution's financial systems.

  • Reporting: Independently prepares simple to complex financial reports, working collaboratively with management, financial and program staff to address discrepancies and correct errors. Monitors and meets allinternal and Sponsor stipulated deadlines and content requirements. Ensures reports are clear, accurate, and submitted on-time. Ability to translate and accurately report financials on Sponsor required forms as required. Address ad hoc reports and analysis as needed.

  • Project Closeout:Independently complete project closeout documentation that are accurate, properly documented and on time. Ensures cost share requirements have been met, unallowable costs have been removed, subaward/contract expenses are accounted for, and outstanding obligations have been addressed. Communicates clearly with financial and program staff and others as appropriate to gather necessary information and supporting documentation. Ensure all invoices and payments are complete. Close project cost center in all financial systems.

  • Audit: Independently applies compliance with regulations and guidelines and implements/documents internal controls, policies, and procedures. Gather documentation and information for auditors from multiple sources as required.

Q UALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree.

**The opportunity**
EY's FSO tax practice provides comprehensive and specialized tax assistance tailored to the unique needs of the asset management industry. **Your key responsibilities**
As a senior in our Wealth & Asset Management practice, you will be responsible for tax compliance and advisory work for clients. You would work with Managers through Partners on key client issues in domestic federal, international and state and local taxation with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives. You will be involved in tax compliance accounts for hedge funds, mutual funds and/or private equity funds.

+ Solid technical knowledge in the asset management tax area
+ Ability to analyze trading reports for tax character and book tax differences, such as wash sales, constructive sales, straddles, and other securities issues.

You will review extensive securities analysis, make appropriate tax adjustments, and provide sign-off for the production and delivery of K-1's and partnership tax returns. You will be responsible for reviewing partnership agreements and private placement memorandums for tax implications of items such as book and tax allocations, stuffing provisions, management and incentive fees as well as run the day to day activities on the accounts that are spread across various locations.
