**Job Summary**
Dominion's Bath County Power Station, a pumped storage hydro station, in (Warm Springs VA) seeks a candidate for an experienced Engineer, Senior Engineer, Staff Engineer (Civil/Geotechnical) to take a lead role responsible for all engineering and geotechnical aspects of the station geotechnical program providing technical expertise to ensure the day-to-day operation, monitoring and maintenance of high-pressure tunnels, drainage tunnels, dam safety monitoring, civil structure site assessment, and maintenance and repair is performed at the highest standard. As a senior team member, the incumbent will provide guidance and training to Bath team members. Core responsibilities include but are not limited to: Overseeing and performing data collection and analysis; developing instrumentation and equipment specifications; performing civil structure, tunnel and dam safety inspections; regulatory reporting; reviewing emergency action plans; developing maintenance and repair plans; performing slope stability analyses for cut slopes, embankment slopes, and sediment pond slopes, using hand and computer methods; acting as subject matter expert for station management and other groups in the areas of civil/geotechnical engineering and dam safety; providing engineering support to station operations and maintenance personnel; and performing other duties as assigned. Operational Technical Services (OTS) is one of the fastest growing private water and wastewater utility staffing providers in the country. We provide certified water treatment, distribution, wastewater treatment, collections, engineering, laboratory, water quality, maintenance, and training professionals to municipalities, special districts, and private utilities throughout the country. OTS offers temporary, temp to hire, direct hire and emergency on-call opportunities including great benefits.
TITLE: Civil Engineer
SALARY: $85,000 – $00,000/yr
(Up to 150,000/yr based on experience)
LOCATION: Manatee County, Florida
WORK HOURS: This position normally works a regular weekday daytime shift 7 am – 3:30 pm
General Purpose of the Position:
Project management for internal and external projects related to the City’s
infrastructure systems. Work closely with Federal, State, and local governmental and utilities agencies to manage the City’s Right-of-Way Use permits and utility’s locations services through the Sunshine One Call system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for pro-active planning, design and implementation of new infrastructure, and rehabilitation and replacement of existing City infrastructure, including:
- Water distribution, storage and pumping systems
- Wastewater collection and pumping systems
- Reuse water distribution, storage and pumping systems
- Roadways and sidewalks
Responsible for:
- The implementation and oversight of local infrastructure ordinances and regulations and development review
- Filing, tracking and implementing requirements of all City FDOT Permits
- Engineering tasks associated with special projects such as infrastructure assessments, paving program management, in-house utility, street or other Public Works projects
- Coordination of consulting engineer contracts and services related to infrastructure of city
- Coordination with federal, state and local agencies and regulators to provide assurance that city remains in compliance with current and pending infrastructure regulations
- Provides professional engineering advice and technical assistance on City infrastructure systems to other City departments and works with each to develop projects for inclusion in the city-wide Capital Improvements Program
Skills and Physical Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of current principle and practices of civil engineering as it relates to municipal public works activities
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and ability to make effective public presentations
- Proficient in the understanding, application and reporting related to current and pending federal, state, and local regulations
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple internal and external projects with a high degree of proficiency
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and ability to make effective public presentations
- Position requires frequent walking, standing, driving, and occasional moderate lifting
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite of programs
Equipment Used:
Computer, cell phone, telephone, radio. Non-CDL level City vehicles. Safety training and equipment is provided.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited engineering college. Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida, or the ability to secure registration within twenty-four (24) months. Two (2) to four (4) years of related experience in engineering planning and design of public infrastructure systems. Familiarity with FDOT permitting procedures and requirements. Experience in general Public Works operations and management a plus. Experience with AutoCAD and GIS desired. Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.
Environmental Conditions: Indoors and outdoors.
Commercial Driver License (CDL): A Commercial Driver License (CDL) is not required for this position.

- Utility Pants: Employees must wear durable utility pants suitable for the work environment
- Safety Shoes: Steel-toed or other appropriate safety shoes are mandatory to protect against workplace hazards
- Candidates must consent to and pass a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
