Job Description

Jacobs is a global network of employees, which serves both the private and public sectors. Our employees work to shape the communities we live in by creating world-class projects that transform the future development patterns of those communities. We provide our clients award-winning planning, engineering, architectural and interior design, construction and program management, and design-build project delivery. The Jacobs business model allows us to successfully service our clients, leverage our integrated services, and provide our employees with growth opportunities while delivering global solutions to our client's local programs.
We consistently receive high rankings from Engineering News-Record (ENR) in many classifications, including the categories of Top Design Firms, Top Contractors, Government Buildings Work, and Federal Civilian Environment.
As a Civil Engineer, you'll work alongside engineers and architects in our Federal & Environmental Solutions (F&ES) business unit to design the civil engineering component of a variety of Federal projects. Such projects include, but are not limited to, site development for US military and other federal facilities. Travel to project sites may be required, including international locations.
Must be capable of assessing site features and creating site layouts, designing utilities systems and pavements, developing grading and drainage plans, designing stormwater management facilities, performing erosion control design, creating 3D models using Civil3D software for site work surfaces and underground utilities, preparation of engineering drawings and specifications, and material take-offs for estimating. Duties would include assisting with services during construction including review and approval of contractor submittal documents. You will be collaborating with senior civil staff and/or Project Manager(s), guiding and mentoring less experienced engineers on project tasks, and requesting additional resources when needed. You will support the project by attending multi-discipline design coordination meetings and research and implement regulatory and permitting requirements. For larger developments, you may act as lead project engineer for specific projects within the program while reporting to a civil program lead. Other responsibilities include serving as the Engineer of Record (PE) on projects scoped specifically within area of expertise and experience.
Project assignments may be within civil works programs to develop solutions together with coastal engineers that address our country's water, resiliency, and disaster recovery challenges through measures such as floodwalls and stormwater pump stations.

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Strong background in plan production and project execution
- AutoCAD Civil3D design experience including development of 3D site models
- United States Citizen
Ideally, you'll also have:
- Experience with Federal clients and projects
- Experience with Bluebeam software
