You will work closely under the guidance of a Licensed Professional Engineer, contributing to diverse land development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design industrial, commercial, and residential subdivision layouts using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers in planning and designing hydraulic and stormwater collection systems.

This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their design experience by working on a wide variety of private and public water infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will have experience with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and other technical software and will use their strong technical skills on a variety of design projects. Your Responsibilities as Civil CAD Technologist:
- Transform preliminary concepts and sketches into engineering designs and drawings using primarily AutoCAD Civil 3D, as well as other technical software as needed
- Processing the topographic data (from LiDAR, satellite, sonar, ground surveys, etc.) for use on the projects
- Providing civil design and drafting support for utility and industrial facilities and services, including buried and overland piping, pumping stations, water, sanitation, stormwater management, roadway design, site grading and drainage systems, and spill containment systems Coordinate with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved.
- Understanding and adhering to Stantec and client standards.
- Attend and participate in meetings
- Manage multiple tasks and jobs in a busy dynamic environment.
- Prepare cost estimates, tender documents, and reports
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Strong communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities and a willingness to work in a team atmosphere.
- Highly organized, have significant attention to detail, are able to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
- Experience with MS Office Suite including Word, and Excel.
- Experience in the following considered an asset:- Autodesk Revit

Education and Experience
- A Civil Technologist Diploma, Geomatics Technologist Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience and familiarity with municipal, urban development and utilities disciplines and/or an education background in these areas
- Minimum 2-5 years of related experience, and a comprehensive knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Position will primarily work in an office setting; however, this position will require field work. Office environment involves working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. We are seeking a skilled Survey CAD Technician to collaborate with a Licensed Surveyor and field crew members. This role is instrumental in drafting and laying out survey projects using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with a focus on both private and public sector projects. The position offers the opportunity to significantly contribute to land surveying and engineering initiatives.
Responsibilities
+ Interpret raw survey data collected by field surveyors, including measurements, angles, and elevation points.
+ Create detailed drawings, maps, plans, and layouts using AutoCAD Civil 3D, such as topographic maps, boundary surveys, and subdivision layouts.
+ Accurately depict property boundaries, easements, right-of-ways, with the assistance of a Licensed Surveyor.
+ Conduct quality assurance by reviewing data files for errors in code descriptions.
+ Import survey data into clean point drawings and drawings with processed line work.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of professional experience drafting in a Civil Engineering discipline.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD with some exposure to Civil 3D.
+ Desire to learn the survey industry and grow within the field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Civil 3D.
+ Survey drafting experience, particularly with boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys.
+ Experience with Carlson or MicroStation is a plus.
Work Environment

The standard work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, but there is flexibility to start as early as 7 AM or as late as 9 AM and end as early as 3 PM or as late as 6 PM. Most team members work from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
