Your responsibilities will include accepting, sorting, segregating, and packaging waste to ensure proper processing and environmental safety.

  • Greet customers, verify disposal receipts, and direct customers to the Chemical Collection Centers.
  • Perform preliminary chemical analysis on unknown materials.
  • Lab Packs and consolidates hazardous materials and wastes into drums for transportation and disposal in accordance with regulatory requirements and established contractor guidelines.
  • Prepare container inventory sheets and track materials in spreadsheets.
  • Load, deliver, and off-load containers of waste at approved disposal facilities.
  • Perform scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance on all collection facilities and surrounding areas.
  • Use, maintain, and calibrate environmental monitoring instruments such as gas detectors and organic vapor analyzers.
  • Pick up and transport waste to the main collection facility for processing.

Work Hours/Days:
  • Working 40-hours Weekly
  • Working hours will either be 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Days will either be Monday - Friday or Tuesday - Saturday.
  • Both schedules have two consecutive days off.

About You

Minimum Qualifications :
  • A High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • A valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hire.
  • Obtain a Florida Class "C" CDL driver's license with Hazmat Endorsement within one (1) year from the date of hire.

Must pass the following certifications/ license within six (6) months from the date of hire.
  • OSHA 40-Hour Hazwoper.
  • DOT HM 181/126.
  • Hazmat Awareness.
  • Blood Borne Pathogens.
  • Landfill Spotter Certification.
  • Forklift Certificate.

Physical Demands:
  • May occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

**What you'll be doing as a** **Hazardous Waste Worker** **:**
+ Clean up of hazardous and non-hazardous waste
+ Responsibilities include manual labor tasks such as collecting, handling, packaging, transporting medical waste, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and other materials
+ Additional duties involve drum movements, drum bulking, drum crushing, and providing support when extra personnel are needed
+ Ensure proper segregation, labeling, marking, and packaging of waste materials in compliance with environmental, safety, and transportation regulations
+ Meet regulatory shipment windows, maintain accurate tracking logs, and adhere to Environmental and Quality Management System, policies, procedures, and operational controls
+ Identify and implement best practices to reduce waste volumes, increase operational efficiencies, optimize equipment usage, and generate cost savings for customers
+ Perform physically demanding activities, including sorting trash for recyclables, loading trucks, collecting, pouring, transferring, consolidating, repackaging, and packaging waste materials
+ Maintain a safe and organized environment
**Available shifts:**
Shift timings - 1st Shift (Day)
**Job requirements:**
+ Two (2) years of relevant work experience preferred
+ Must be a valid driver's license
+ Must have or be willing to update all Vaccines
+ Must be comfortable walking 10-12 miles daily
+ Background check and drug screening required
