The Public Services team is looking for a new Clean-up Equipment Operator to join our team! Under the direction of the field supervisor, this position operates a variety of light to heavy vehicles and equipment used in the cleanup of City neighborhoods, streets, islands, alleys, and sweeping/washing City streets. This position requires operating equipment in other areas, as well as assisting on an as-needed basis in garbage collection operations.
About the Position: This position may be filled at level I or II, depending on the candidate's experience and certifications. Those in level II may act in a lead crew member capacity. This position will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the North Temple Corridor area. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM and is not eligible for a remote/hybrid work schedule. This position may require you to work non-traditional hours, like holidays and/or weekends, and are expected to be on-call for specified times during the snow removal season. The anticipated start date is on or after September 1st. This announcement will remain open until the position is filled and may close at any time without notice. About the Team: The Public Services Facilities Division is an internal service that provides maintenance and repairs to City buildings such as City Hall, the Sorenson Unity Center, Smith's Ballpark, and fire stations. This division is also responsible for the security and maintenance of the downtown and Sugar House business districts. Applicants for roles within the Facilities Division can expect to directly provide or support the skilled trades and maintenance to the City's facilities to keep this important infrastructure running smoothly for its occupants.
Position Hourly Rate Ranges: Level I: $19.19 - $5.24 Level II: 20.99 - 27.59

Key Responsibilities:
- Operates a full range of light to heavy construction equipment and tools required for various cleanup applications.

- Evaluates and documents the operating condition of and performs routine maintenance on assigned equipment prior to its use.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Level I: Six months operating equipment associated with broom operations and/or cleanup operations. Type of equipment to be specified in announcement.
- Possession of a valid Class D Driver's License.
- Level II: Two years' related work experience operating equipment associated with Skid Steer operations and/or cleanup operations.
- One-year paid experience operating landscaping equipment, such as: bobcat, trimmers, saws, shovels, rakes, hoes, mowers, trimmers, and snow throwers.
- One-year paid experience operating heavy pickup truck.
- Possession of a valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) or ability to obtain within six months of hire or driving privilege card.
- Flagger Certification may be required.
- All Levels: Visual demands required to read street signs and markings, instructions, and safety rules.
- Ability to write and perform basic arithmetic calculations to compute mileage, tonnage, time, etc.
- Ability to work and relate well with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public in varying circumstances.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance required for the equipment which will be operated and the ability to detect the need for, as well as make minor repairs and tool and equipment adjustments.
Working Conditions:
- Moderate to heavy physical activity. Required to push, pull, or lift heavy equipment and material. Uncomfortable working positions, must sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain cleanliness of entire shop
- Monitor bulk oils and greases and notify supervisor to prevent shortages
- Maintain cleanliness of drivers lounge
- Maintain cleanliness of shop employees break area
- Maintain and inventory all shop tools, air compressors

Job Description:We're hiring hard-working, reliable individuals with hauling experience to complete debris removal and site cleanup assignments . As a Debris & Cleanup Specialist, you'll work with property managers, contractors, and homeowners to remove post-construction waste, yard debris, event materials, and more.
This contract-based opportunity is ideal for professionals who own a pickup truck, box truck, dump truck, or flatbed and are looking for flexible, high-paying jobs that match their schedule and equipment.
What You'll Be Doing:-
Clear and haul debris from renovation, construction, and landscaping sites

Remove scrap materials such as wood, drywall, metal, or concrete

Assist with property cleanouts, event breakdowns, and donation runs

Secure, load, and transport debris using your own vehicle

Provide light post-job site cleaning (broom sweep, dust, bagging)
