The Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell is seeking the position of Clerkship Director for Advanced Clinical Experience (ACE) in Psychiatry, known at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell (ZSOM) as ACE Director.

The Psychiatry UME team is responsible for a range of required and elective experiences in the ZSOM curriculum, namely: pre-clinical coursework (The Human Condition), pre-clerkship clinical exposure (Initial Clinical Experience in Psychiatry), the core clerkship ACE, the Psychiatry Acting Internship, and diverse electives for both ZSOM and visiting students. The team collaborates in curriculum integration across courses, developing faculty and residents as teachers, medical education scholarship, and the recruitment and advising of students considering psychiatry.

Psychiatry ACE Director is a 0.4 FTE role in educational administration for the ZSOM psychiatry clerkship. The ACE Director works with the Director of UME and partners at ZSOM to ensure continued excellence for this 6-week core clerkship that spans multiple hospitals and includes dozens of faculties and resident teachers. The ACE Director leads in teaching (including large- and small-group sessions), student assessment, program evaluation, curriculum development, and faculty development for the clerkship.

  • Assist in developing content for clerkship orientations.

Committee And Curricular Initiatives

  • Participate in monthly student liaison committee meetings.
  • Attend and actively participate in clerkship director meetings.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new curricular initiatives.
  • Objective Structured Clinical Exams (OSCEs).
  • Standardized patient encounters.
  • On-line education experiences.

Assessment And Feedback Support

  • Assist the Clerkship Director in preparing the Clerkship reviews as part of required curriculum continuous quality improvement.
  • Assist in providing feedback on student case reports.

Service Duties

  • Serve on relevant committees or other institutional service as requested by the Dean of UME and/or the Dean of the SOM.
  • Other duties as identified by the Dean of the SOM.

Qualifications

Education requirement:

  • M.D., M.D./Ph.D., Ph.D., D.O. or equivalent degree with suitable leadership and educational experience required.
  • Advanced degree in health professions education preferred.

Licenses Or Certifications

  • NYS licensure or eligibility, and board certification in area of specialization preferred.
  • Medical staff credentialling eligibility in area of specialization at clinical affiliate site preferred.

Technical/computer Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Institutional databases and learning management software supporting the Office of UME and related Administrative Offices of the College.
  • Adept with virtual conferencing platforms.

Prior Experience

  • Team-oriented, action-focused, hands-on, experienced physician or equivalent skilled educational leader.
  • Prior experience working and teaching medical students or residents in an academic health care setting preferred.

Position description

The Division of Clinical Sciences at the University of California, Riverside is recruiting a Clerkship Director within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN). This position offers excellent opportunities for teaching and pursuing a career in academic medicine, with time dedicated to teaching and scholarly activity. Experience in adult in-patient, office procedures, outpatient OBGYN and community health care is required. Successful candidate may practice at the UC Riverside School of Medicine Outpatient Clinic and UCR affiliated hospitals. The incumbent will have a concurrent academic appointment in an appropriate academic/clinical department and is expected to participate in clinical service (at 60%) and clerkship duties (at 40%), in addition to research, or scholarly activities. Additional qualifications include the demonstration of outstanding academic accomplishments and trajectory which may include innovative educational program development, excellence in teaching, clinical leadership, and research or scholarly work.


Clerkship Directors, working with the Associate Dean for Clinical Medical Education, oversee the clinical education of 3rd-year medical students in their respective Clerkship at UCR SOM. The Clerkship Director is responsible for building and fostering a positive, inclusive, academic, and innovative learning environment for all students. Critically, the Clerkship Director also assures comparability of educational experiences, quality, and equivalency of student assessment and feedback across all Clerkship Sites. In addition, the Clerkship Director collaborates with UCR SOM leadership to ensure integration of the Longitudinal Ambulatory Care Clerkship (LACE) curriculum and the Curricular Emphases and Threads along with other required curricular elements of their Clerkships. Finally, the Clerkship Director reports to the Associate Dean for Clinical Medical Education and assures the integration of their clerkship content with the content of the other clerkships across the third and fourth year.


A Clerkship Director designs, manages, and evaluates their course or clerkship in keeping with the overall school learning objectives, directives of the Associate Dean for Clinical Medical Education, recommendations of the Medical Education Committee (MEC), Clinical Curriculum Subcommittee (CCS), Clerkship Operations Team Subcommittee (COT) or any subcommittees, and relevant national society or accreditation recommendations directed to their subject matter. The Clerkship Director communicates these expectations for participation and implementation of their course/clerkship to their students, staff, instructors, administration, and faculty.


Critically, Clerkship Directors will assure clear and consistent communication with the educational leaders at all sites where students rotate within the clerkship. The Clerkship Director will also assure relevant communication of goals and objectives, assessment and evaluation processes, and faculty development for the residents and faculty at partner sites.


The Clerkship Team and the MEC will monitor the overall accomplishments of the course/clerkship, and any necessary or significant revisions in content will need to be approved by the CCS and MEC.


The Clerkship Director needs to remain informed of trends and practices in medical education, pedagogy, technology, administration and LCME accreditation standards. Planning involves consultation with staff and instructors, administration, the faculty, and the Office of Faculty Development.


The Clerkship Director is responsible for developing and maintaining a vision for the short and long-term development and activity of their Course/Clerkship. This ongoing effort entails development, planning, reporting, and monitoring.


Additionally, the Clerkship Director demonstrates scholarly activities and assumes leadership roles in UCR SOM educational endeavors. Clerkship Director Specific Activities:



  • Prepare formative and summative written assessment to each student based on individual evaluators' feedback


  • When asked, provide timely letters of recommendation, if able, when asked, for students applying to residency programs.


  • Ensure that clinical teaching faculty have a faculty appointment at UCR SOM.


  • Work with the clerkship affiliate site coordinators to achieve consistent clerkship experiences across all sites.


  • Work directly with clinical affiliate sites to ensure that all requirements related to accreditation are addressed and in place.


  • Conduct semi- annual visits to each clinical site in the clerkship.


  • Assist with implementing programs covering topics on teaching and evaluation for their resident physicians and faculty.

The Division of Clinical Sciences at the University of California, Riverside is recruiting a Clerkship Director within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN). Experience in adult in-patient, office procedures, outpatient OBGYN and community health care is required. Successful candidate may practice at the UC Riverside School of Medicine Outpatient Clinic and UCR affiliated hospitals. The incumbent will have a concurrent academic appointment in an appropriate academic/clinical department and is expected to participate in clinical service (at 60%) and clerkship duties (at 40%), in addition to research, or scholarly activities. Additional qualifications include the demonstration of outstanding academic accomplishments and trajectory which may include innovative educational program development, excellence in teaching, clinical leadership, and research or scholarly work.

Clerkship Directors, working with the Associate Dean for Clinical Medical Education, oversee the clinical education of 3rd-year medical students in their respective Clerkship at UCR SOM. The Clerkship Director is responsible for building and fostering a positive, inclusive, academic, and innovative learning environment for all students. Critically, the Clerkship Director also assures comparability of educational experiences, quality, and equivalency of student assessment and feedback across all Clerkship Sites. In addition, the Clerkship Director collaborates with UCR SOM leadership to ensure integration of the Longitudinal Ambulatory Care Clerkship (LACE) curriculum and the Curricular Emphases and Threads along with other required curricular elements of their Clerkships. Finally, the Clerkship Director reports to the Associate Dean for Clinical Medical Education and assures the integration of their clerkship content with the content of the other clerkships across the third and fourth year.

A Clerkship Director designs, manages, and evaluates their course or clerkship in keeping with the overall school learning objectives, directives of the Associate Dean for Clinical Medical Education, recommendations of the Medical Education Committee (MEC), Clinical Curriculum Subcommittee (CCS), Clerkship Operations Team Subcommittee (COT) or any subcommittees, and relevant national society or accreditation recommendations directed to their subject matter. The Clerkship Director communicates these expectations for participation and implementation of their course/clerkship to their students, staff, instructors, administration, and faculty.

Critically, Clerkship Directors will assure clear and consistent communication with the educational leaders at all sites where students rotate within the clerkship. The Clerkship Director will also assure relevant communication of goals and objectives, assessment and evaluation processes, and faculty development for the residents and faculty at partner sites.

The Clerkship Team and the MEC will monitor the overall accomplishments of the course/clerkship, and any necessary or significant revisions in content will need to be approved by the CCS and MEC.

The Clerkship Director needs to remain informed of trends and practices in medical education, pedagogy, technology, administration and LCME accreditation standards. Planning involves consultation with staff and instructors, administration, the faculty, and the Office of Faculty Development.

The Clerkship Director is responsible for developing and maintaining a vision for the short and long-term development and activity of their Course/Clerkship. This ongoing effort entails development, planning, reporting, and monitoring.

Additionally, the Clerkship Director demonstrates scholarly activities and assumes leadership roles in UCR SOM educational endeavors. Clerkship Director Specific Activities:

  • Prepare formative and summative written assessment to each student based on individual evaluators feedback

  • When asked, provide timely letters of recommendation, if able, when asked, for students applying to residency programs.

  • Ensure that clinical teaching faculty have a faculty appointment at UCR SOM.

  • Work with the clerkship affiliate site coordinators to achieve consistent clerkship experiences across all sites.

  • Conduct semi- annual visits to each clinical site in the clerkship.

A.T. Still University's School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) is seeking a part-time Assistant Professor and Internal Medicine Clerkship Director on the Mesa, Arizona campus. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Clinical Science Education and is responsible for the development and delivery of educational content to ATSU-SOMA standards across the curriculum as assigned in Internal Medicine. This position will work collaboratively with the ATSU-SOMA team to develop, implement, and refine the curriculum and will be involved in the delivery to clinical clerkship medical students. This position will serve as course director for the Internal Medicine clerkship and content expert for the curriculum. A 0.2 FTE equals approximately 8 hours per week.
**Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Serve as course director for Internal Medicine to include: prepare syllabi, book lists, and objectives; prepare assignments using applicable technology for the online teaching; work with staff to place all appropriate material on the management system in a timely fashion; assume assigned role in test preparation and administration; participate in text selection or other teaching modalities; assess student progress in course, prepare and submit final grades.

The Center for Disability & Elder Law (CDEL) hosts Legal Interns each academic year and during summer months. For Fall 2025, the Legal Intern will participate in what is expected to be a primarily hybrid
internship opportunity, which will include
remote work and in-person work; however, CDEL will consider students who wish to work exclusively remotely. CDEL will provide training and supervision for the student. Applicants
should be a
second or third year law student. On occasion, we do consider outstanding first year law students. Opportunities to participate
may include
participation in CDEL community clinics, workshops and help desks.

The Legal Internship is unpaid. However, in addition to working with law schools offering externship credit, there may be funding options available for CDEL Legal Interns through law schools or outside agencies. CDEL will work with students and their advisors in setting up the internship.

Interns will be responsible for managing expansive cases and a client case
load under supervision.
