Essential Functions:

Coordinates orientation of new hires. Mentors and coaches unit preceptors to foster positive experiences and a supportive learning environment. Coordinates clinical and educational programs for staff, patients and community. Demonstrates knowledge of patient rights, bio-ethical standards and legal aspects of consents; serves as a patient advocate. Executes education and training in the clinical as well as classroom environment. Develops and uses various teaching methods to facilitate learning, i.e., lectures demonstrations, self-learning, role modeling, preceptor skills, bedside/clinical site evaluation.
Helps to maintain a centralized educational tracking system. Initiates individual action plan to achieve goals of professional growth and personal well-being. Submits summary of learning needs achieved from current year's plan prior to evaluation. Serves as a consultant and resource for staff caring for patients as well as ancillary department staff. Maintains all necessary documentation and records in a legible, accurate and complete manner, including education and competency record keeping.
Monitors, coordinates and participates as necessary in the orientation program for all staff. Participates in general patient care service orientation program, as necessary. Meets regularly with the Manager of Education Services. Monitors effectiveness and appropriateness of current policies and procedures and makes recommendations to enhance those resources as indicated. Coordinates and/or participates in unit based in-services for new equipment, policies and procedures, new medications, etc.
Participates in performance improvement by planning and providing clinical education based on practice findings/data, direct observation, unit needs, and identified action plans. Assists with the evaluation of the program's effectiveness and attainment of goals. Participates in the evaluation of clinical issues and coordination of staff education/training.
Identifies educational and training needs of the staff through daily rounds, observing staff performing direct patient care, and discussing needs at unit, leadership, and professional practice meetings. Expands the scientifically based nursing practice by utilizing, facilitating and participating in nursing research. Disseminates recent innovations and research findings relevant to nursing practice and patient outcomes.

Competencies:

  • Applies research findings derived from current professional literature and accrediting agencies in the development and implementation of education programs offered to employees at CH.
  • Coordinates room reservations, set up, catering, parking, AV equipment, and program handouts for in-service programs.
  • Ensures all completed in-service programs are submitted to CE office assistant for inclusion into the education data base and individual employee education file.

Qualifications:

Responsible for developing and delivering professional development programs and in-service training sessions for healthcare professionals.

Essential Functions

-Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify training needs and develop comprehensive training programs aligned with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements.

-Conduct needs assessments, analyze training gaps, and design learning objectives and outcomes for in-service training sessions.

-Develop training materials, including presentations, handouts, e-learning modules, and multimedia resources, using instructional design principles and adult learning techniques.

-Incorporate innovative training methods and technologies to enhance learner engagement and knowledge retention.

Experience
  • Previous experience in designing and delivering training programs for healthcare professionals, preferably in a CPD or professional development capacity. 3-5 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills needed to maintain constructive working relationships within and outside of department.
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Program planning and organizational skills to effectively manage work and educational data collection.
  • Customer service skills are required to effectively meet the needs of the staff and in building departmental and external relationships.
  • Basic computer skills required to communicate electronically and to work with word processing and spreadsheet applications.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Supports the training and education of employees based in company facilities and programs within an assigned geographical area. Delivers standardized, competency based, training and development programs including new employee orientation, preceptor training, facility specific in- services, and clinical, quality, and customer service training programs to promote quality patient care, and achieve Area, Regional and/or Enterprise wide initiatives & goals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aligns with regional, group, and corporate, business-related goals through all activities and actions.

  • Adheres to standards and scope of nursing practice, company policy, procedures, compliance, regulatory, legal, and ethical, requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS :

The employee may occasionally be required to move, with assistance, machines, and equipment of up to 200 lbs., and may lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet.

  • May be asked to provide essential functions of this position in other locations which may include overnight stays, with the same physical demands and working conditions as described above.

  • This position requires between approximately 35-80% travel

SUPERVISION:

  • None

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED SKILLS :

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Nursing.

  • Advanced degree BSN or MSN (preferred)

  • Current appropriate RN state licensure in primary state of residence

  • Obtain and maintain RN state licensure in assigned states as directed

  • Must meet the practice requirements in the state of employment

  • Minimum 1-year dialysis experience as a Registered Nurse

  • CDN or CNN (preferred) or must attain within 18 months of employment

  • Successful completion and maintenance of CPR BLS (Basic Life Safety) Certification, all annual and ongoing required education / training / competencies.

The rate of pay for this position will depend on the successful candidate's work location and qualifications, including relevant education, work experience, skills, and competencies.

Annual Rate: $85,000.00 - $143,000.00
