Shields Health has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Imaging Manage rto work Full-Time Monday - Friday 6:30am-3pm with 3 admin days , 2 scanning days at our Cape Cod facilities in Falmouth & Sandwich.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

In keeping with Shields Health commitment to excellence, the Clinical Imaging Manager will be responsible for the location and employees; ensuring a professional, caring atmosphere is provided to all customer groups, while maintaining a fast-paced, multi-tasked oriented clinical environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

General Responsibilities

• Is the prime coordinator for notification, reporting and assuring smooth functioning of equipment
• Responsible for overseeing Technologist's activity
• Plans, directs, and organizes Technologist activity and schedule including implementation of protocols
• Is available for consultation on an emergency basis should problems arise
• Promotes a harmonious and professional working relationship in the Center, throughout the organization and with referral sources

• Assumes responsibility for delivering patient care.
• Initiates, monitors and terminates procedures.
• Assists in cleaning up after treatment.
• Assumes responsibility that all patients are informed as to clinical policies and addresses patient inquires or ensures follow through by qualified personnel
• Contrast administration.

• Has a thorough working knowledge of equipment currently in use, and specific effects which can be reasonably anticipated with the various types of equipment.
• Establishes a schedule of preventative maintenance and assures proper documentation of such

• Assists in evaluating new equipment and performance of existing equipment.
• Makes recommendations and communicates on a regular basis with the Medical Director and Chief Operating Officer.
• Reports on the technical competence of Technologists to the Medical Director and critiques such

• Must possess an Associates of Applied Science Degree from an approved collegiate or hospital based Radiologic Technology or Therapy Program and be A.R.R.T. certified. MRI certification required.

• Must have at least 2 years of MRI experience and have adequate on-the-job training on maintenance of equipment.
• Able to identify or detect and correct any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions or, if unable to do so, able to contact proper resource for repair.

• Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.

• Position: Clinical Imaging Assistant
• Full Time: 32 hours/week
• Location: Arlington Heights, IL
• Hours: Weekdays 4p-10:30p, Weekends 6:30a-7p

• Assists technologist in providing efficient patient service; assists with patient and room preparation for examinations; ensures that necessary supplies are available; greets patients and escorts them to examination room; transport patients to and from other hospital departments as needed. Calls patients to confirm appointments.
• Prepares patient examination films for the physician and/or technologists review; labels films with patient's name and film number; prepares new patient folder or locates existing patient folders in the Radiology File Room; delivers films to on site radiologist for reading.
• Obtains radiologist interpretation of patient examinations. Communicates results of tests to appropriate staff including physicians and medical office staff members, nurses, and other personnel.
• Performs processing duties, i.e., maintains laser /camera film processor supplies; assists in developing duplicate images for physician and patient request.
• Provides messenger and other miscellaneous services as required by the facilitator/technologist; obtains supplies from sterile processing or central supply as needed; transports patient specimens to the laboratory, etc.
• Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.

• The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of four years of high school.
• Minimum of six months experience working with the public; some medical background preferred.
• Obtains and maintains CPR certification through the American Heart Association within three months of hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is desired at time of hire; must complete medical terminology course within first year in position if not completed prior to hire.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One (1) year of previous supervisory experience, and five (5) years of previous technical experience.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Must be registered in ARRT, ARDMS, NMTCB, or RCIS, or have a current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certification - Basic Life Support upon start; American Registered Radiologic Technologists Upon Start - Must be certified by at least one of the following: American Registered Radiologic Technologists or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or CNT or Cardiovascular Technology or Nuclear Medicine Technology or Registered Vascular Technology or Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists; as applicable with additional certification in an applicable imaging modality required. Certification in Computed Technology or Mammography required within 12 months of hire. Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging required within 18 month of hire.
• Licensure - Licensed Radiologic Technologist Upon Start State Licensure required for all INOVA non-Hospital Licensed centers, but not required if working onsite at an Inova Hospital and/or for Nuclear Medicine.
• Experience - Three years of imaging experience in a hospital/healthcare environment with experience in an applicable imaging modality.
• Education - Associate's Degree in Radiological Sciences or Graduate of an accredited school/program of Radiology or Nuclear Medicine with a valid certification.
