Purpose: The psychiatrist will provide behavioral health care services to both children and adults in an integrated care center. May also provide supervision to psychiatrist nurse practitioner not yet qualified to practice solely.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for providing outpatient care to patients showing a change or decline in mental status
- Work independently with other members of the medical or behavioral health team, with entitlements to specific clinical privileges approved by the clinic's Board of Directors
- Take part in an interdisciplinary team that provides primary care, dental and behavioral health care to employees and patients
- Perform patient histories and physicals, risk factor assessment, ordering of therapeutic and diagnostic tests; and attend to consultations and appointments
- Prescribe medications following the clinic's policy and relevant regulations of the State
- Consult with physicians on cases that are beyond the scope of qualification of other providers.
- Put all relevant patient data in medical records and case presentations
- Formulate, execute and review healthcare education delivered to patients and families for disease prevention
- Ensure smooth communication with other health professionals for effective delivery of clinic service to patients
- Provide consultation to the clinic's nursing and medical staff for improvement in holistically treating the whole patient, which enhances overall quality service delivery of the clinic
- Provide supervision to psychiatric nurse practitioners or students/interns as needed.
- Perform psychiatric evaluations required by outside organizations for various reasons (i.e. mental competency, employment, bariatric assessments, etc.).
Education/ Skills/Qualifications:
- Medical degree, MD or DO is acceptable
- Registered in NYS to practice psychiatry
- Self-disciplined, energetic, passionate, innovative
- Five years ambulatory or public health experience is required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
- Leadership and organizational skills essential
- Bilingual especially in Spanish is preferred, but not required

- Provide all psychiatric care generally provided at an ambulatory outpatient basis.
- Responsible for the evaluation and review of assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and referrals. Arrange for referral resources for those medical specialties not provided by the Corporation for patients of the clinic.
- Based on medical training and/or specialty, determine medical mental health condition of patient, through the performance of assessment and examination as needed, to establish a diagnosis and proposed treatment plan.
- Maintain high standard of medical practice and participate in the training development of the medical team. Assist in medical education of both the patients and clinic staff.
- Provide necessary back-up to the on-call physician, resident, emergency room personnel, etc. with regard to give directions on an appropriate treatment plan. Additionally, perform physician rounds and other inpatient care for clinic patients hospitalized at institutions with which the clinic has an agreement for hospitalization of its patients.
- As a member of the health care team, exemplify an example in attitude toward patients and staff, thereby, performing duties with respect, dignity, privacy, and modesty to the patients.
- Participate in the development of clinic protocols and formulary. Make recommendations, suggestions, etc., on chart information forms.
- Fulfill 40 hours of Continuing Education Credits within each twelve (12) month period. Attend professional conventions and seminars, participate in professional societies, and do all things reasonable, necessary and desirable to maintain and improve his/her professional skills.
- Document each on site/in office procedure, prescription, consultation and patient
contact in patient's chart and on the clinic's encounter forms, within a 24 hour period. - Counsel patient regarding medical and other problems that might affect patient's health and well-being.
- Perform economically feasible clinical procedures for patient's benefit, within scope and skill of practitioner.
- Prepare forms, letters, and examinations on behalf of patients for claims of disability, worker's compensation, injuries and illnesses.
- Participate and cooperate in all reasonable efforts with the clinic to apply for and secure public or private grants, contracts, donations, and all customary and desirable accreditations, licensing and permits.
- Provide direction and leadership to the clinic's medical support staff, regarding administering patient care.
- Perform other job related duties, as may be assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Graduate and completion of an accredited School of Medicine and Residency Program. Currently licensed to practice in the State of Wisconsin as a Psychiatrist.
Experience: Previous experience should be from a hospital or ambulatory clinic setting

We are actively looking to hire a talented Psychiatrist in the area, who is passionate about patient care and committed to clinical excellence.
We offer Psychiatrists:- Competitive compensation package based on productivity with uncapped earning potential
- Average annual compensation: $259,000 to $57,000
- W2 employed position with flexible hybrid work schedules

- Up to 72,000 per year to supervise PMHNPs
