We have a 6 month contract to hire for a seasoned Senior IT Project Manager with 5+ years of experience successfully leading large-scale technology and clinical systems projects from inception to delivery. They bring proven expertise in project planning and scheduling, budget and cost management, and thorough documentation and reporting, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time and within budget. With a Bachelor's degree (MBA, MHA, RN, PMP, or SAFe certification preferred), this individual thrives in complex healthcare IT environments, driving cross-functional coordination between clinical, IT, and vendor teams while ensuring regulatory compliance and seamless system integration. Highly curious, detail-oriented, and a proactive self-starter, they demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, consistently mitigating risks, fostering adoption, and ensuring measurable value to the business. 100% Remote.

About the Role:
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of clinical systems, enhancements and integrations.
  • Their main goals are to ensure projects are delivered on time, meet clinical and regulatory needs, integrate smoothly with existing workflows, and support user adoption.
  • Coordinate between clinical, IT, and vendor teams, manage risks and ensure compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordination, planning and oversight of tasks to keep clinical systems project on track.
  • Responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of a project to ensure it is completed on time and within budget
  • Identify and report risks as well as proposal to remediate and escalate appropriately and urgency.
  • Metrics/expectations include meeting milestones and deliverables and remaining within the defined budget.
  • Must be an independent self-starter.

Job Description:

Position Purpose:
Responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of a technology project to ensure it is completed on time and within budget. Has overall responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, internal staffing, vendors, and contractual deliverables. Develops detailed project plans. Monitors project milestones and generates periodic status reports. Evaluates and manages risk. Incorporates quality measures and standards to project deliverables.

Education/Experience:
Requires a Bachelor's degree and 4 - 6 years of related experience.

Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.

Technical Skills:

+ Monitors the project from inception through delivery.
+ May engage and oversee the work of external vendors.
+ Focuses on process improvement, organizational change management, program management and other processes relative to the business.
+ Leads and manages team in planning and executing business programs.
+ Serves as the subject matter expert in the functional area and leads programs to meet critical needs.
+ Communicates and collaborates with customers to analyze and transform needs and goals into functional requirements. Delivers the appropriate artifacts as needed.
+ Works with operational leaders within the business to provide recommendations on opportunities for process improvements.
+ Creates business requirements documents, test plans, requirements traceability matrix, user training materials and other related documentations.
+ Generate and distribute standard reports on schedule
**JOB QUALIFICATIONS**
**REQUIRED EDUCATION** :
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES** :
+ 3-5 years of Program and/or Project management experience.
+ Operational Process Improvement experience.
+ Healthcare experience.
+ Experience with Microsoft Project and Visio.
+ Excellent presentation and communication skills.
+ Experience partnering with different levels of leadership across the organization.
**PREFERRED EDUCATION** :
Graduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
**PREFERRED EXPERIENCE** :
- 5-7 years of Program and/or Project management experience.
- Managed Care experience.
- Experience working in a cross functional highly matrixed organization.
**PREFERRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, ASSOCIATION** :
- PMP, Six Sigma Green Belt, Six Sigma Black Belt Certification and/or comparable coursework desired.
