St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center (SLFTC) presents a unique opportunity to work with individuals involved in the criminal justice system in an inpatient psychiatric setting. FTC is a 250+ bed adult inpatient facility operated by the Missouri Department of Mental Health. The position would be across all programs at both campuses. These programs are: the Competency Restoration Program, Forensic Responsibility Program, New Outlook Program, Social Learning Program and Transitional Rehabilitation Program/Deaf Services.
The Clinical Social Work Specialist position will be geared towards bolstering clinical interventions within the programs at St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center. This position will spearhead improving our already integrated evidenced- based practices, as well as implementing new ones.
This position will play a large part in providing trainings to the social work department; Examples being onboarding new employees, developing or utilizing preexisting trainings and providing them to the department and collaborating with providers in the community who would come provide training to our team.
Responsibilities :
• Collaborate with social workers on multidisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate implementation of clinical interventions
• Participate in the onboarding process to ensure adequate orientation of the social worker within their respective program
• Assess, supplement and improve already existing evidenced-based practices within our department
• Provide centralized treatment group(s) based on clinical necessity
• Provide clinically relevant trainings to the social work department
• Provide practicum and/or licensure supervision when applicable
• Implement individual therapy on a case-by-case basis
• Participate in Grand Rounds and similar meetings to provide supplemental clinical support
• Help conduct quality assurance audits with our documentation
• Conduct suicide risk and other risk assessments as needed
• Other duties as assigned
Eligibility:
• LCSW with two or more years of clinical experience strongly preferred, but provisionally licensed clinicians with experience will be considered.
• Provisionally and fully credentialed candidates must be professionally licensed in Missouri.
• Prior experience providing services for individuals with a severe and persistent mental health diagnosis and other impairing conditions (substance use disorders, personality disorders, intellectual disorders, etc.)
• Working knowledge of the DSM, evidence-based practices and social work ethics are strongly encouraged.

Essential job functions:

Minimum requirements:
- A master's degree in social work from a graduate school accredited by the council on social work education followed by three years' professional social work experience, one year of which must have been in a medical setting.
- A valid and active license as a licensed clinical social worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. The required license must be current and unrestricted; a conditional, provisional, probationary, or restricted license and/or certificates will not be accepted.
- A valid California Class C driver license or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
