We're looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to be part of a growing global IT department who is a collaborative and experienced professional.
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be an essential member of URW's Infrastructure Team. You will be responsible for operations and system engineering. To ensure URW provides optimal experience, this person will be skilled at engineering, automation, monitoring and scripting to best meet the needs of URW's business objectives.
We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer with:
The ideal candidate enjoys and thrives in working with a variety of tools, languages, systems and architectures while building and improving features, speed and reliability of our core services and systems. You will work with everything from payment systems to our core business systems in creating robust and highly scalable software systems that handle high demand.
The minimum requirements and skills include:
- Support and optimize workloads in GCP
- Solid understanding of agile practices and DevOps
- Participate in all Infrastructure projects as a well-rounded Infrastructure/DevOps generalist
- Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
Preferred Qualifications include:
- Passion for CI/CD, automation, and related topics
- Knowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform
- Desire to build tools and automation
- Ability to think creatively and invent new solutions to tough cutting-edge problems
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced cross-functional teams
- 2 years relevant experience with VPC, Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Cloud Logging, Load Balancing (NLB/ALB)
- Experience creating playbooks and roles for Ansible
- GCP Certification preferred
- AWS experience is a plus
- Strong in at least one programming language. Node.js, Python, or Ruby are great. Shell languages (or config management tools) do not count
Compensation:
- Exempt
- $130,000 - $165,000 per year + Annual Discretionary Bonus

You will become an integral member of Kobayashi Maru’s Infrastructure as Code (IaC) team responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining a fully automated, reliable, and secure cloud-native platform to support the ‘path to production’ for space applications, while becoming the platform of choice for SSC. The IaC team operates within an Agile framework including daily stand up, short feedback loops, sprint/iteration planning, duration planning, retrospectives, executing from the product backlog and roadmap, meeting performance metrics, and reporting on progress and blockers. The IaC team is completely customer-oriented and strives to exceed service level agreements, specifications, and parameters. You will be responsible for focusing on developing and maintaining software that automates processes and workflows that allow the cloud Infrastructure to function and scale easily and cost-effectively. You will design and implement new automated features and services on top of the cloud infrastructure to completely unlock the maximum capabilities of the cloud. You will enable Kobayashi Maru to make flawless use of their cloud resources through automated execution of installations, configurations, and management of the infrastructure in Microsoft Azure. You will perform scheduled and unscheduled automation in support of the entire Kobayashi Maru tech stack and infrastructure. With automation and an ‘everything as code’ mentality, you will help mature and deliver Kobayashi Maru’s cloud infrastructure supporting 14 software product teams and thousands of users across the test, IL4 development, IL6 staging/production, and higher classification level staging/production environments. Requirements: Must be a US citizen : Secret security clearance required Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or Cybersecurity Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in infrastructure and automation engineering Security+ certification required Virtual machine management and deployment Preferred Skills: Experience setting up and configuring Linux servers.
