Description

In this role you will be responsible for developing, debugging and maintaining virtual networking software solutions for GPUs for various cloud platforms. You will:

1. Drive ideas from inception to implementation establishing a reputation sought out throughout the organization for advice and consultation through setting standards, process and technical direction.
2. Design, implement, code, review, and debug software components and drivers.
3. Generate and review design documentation.
4. Participate in qualifications and rollouts of software to production clusters.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent related experience.
• Experience qualifying and configuring multiple versions of GPU hardware, NVIDIA drivers, and CUDA, plus their interaction with well known frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Horovod, etc).
• Experience with advanced high-speed/low-latency Kubernetes networking stack. Ex: RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet).

• Experience running large NVIDIA GPU fleets at scale. NVIDIA GPU nodes are less stable than CPU-only nodes. Requires knowledge on Linux kernel tuning for GPUs, common HW/SW issues, and implementing preemptive health-checks.
• Experience qualifying and configuring environments where containers run a different GPU driver version from the one running on the host (Over docker/K8S or just LXC containers).

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $228,100 and $342,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

The Public Cloud Engineering (PCE) team builds solutions that enable cloud adoption in Bloomberg at enterprise scale. When operating at this level, our solutions need to be highly scalable, maintainable and secure. To meet these requirements, we build self-serve platforms with proper control mechanisms in place. These automations allow us to address business needs in a timely manner, without sacrificing or compromising the organization's control needs.

What's in it for you:

Being part of the PCE team, you will play a critical role in Bloomberg's public cloud adoption. You will work closely with client or external facing teams who build applications to drive business growth, and internal focused teams who make sure cost, security and resilience are not compromised at any time. You will have an opportunity to make decisions on how best to solve problems, either building them from scratch, using a cloud provider or a vendor solution, or a combination of the two. You will also have the opportunity to learn Bloomberg proprietary technologies and be able to integrate your solution to it, which will be part of the market leading FinTech solution.

We'll trust you to:

• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and network security.

• Solid knowledge of distributed systems architecture and operations.

Your role and responsibilities

IBM Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is looking for a passionate and skilled Software QA Engineer to join our Network Overlay team.

In this role you will be responsible for the following:

• Develop, execute & automate test plans for networking features in IBM Cloud using Python or GO/Pytest/APIs/Terraform.

• Work closely with experienced development engineers to identify the software defects early in the cycle.

• You will directly contribute by testing/automating the features requested by end-customers.

• You will take part in test infrastructure enhancements.

• You understand various use-cases in Cloud Networking & implement/enhance existing test suites.

• You are directly involved in recreating customer issues from production network & automate the same.

Required technical and professional expertise

• QA/Automation engineer with 8-10+ years of experience.

• Must have solid understanding of basic networking concepts.

• Must be proficient in one programming language (C / C++ / Python / Go ).

• Must be well versed in Linux networking (Open source test tools, TCPdump , iPerf) , Virtualization.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Working experience in Public Cloud with VPC infrastructure & Baremetal is a plus.

• Automation Infrastructure development / Full stack experience is a plus.

• CI/CD pipeline and tooling experience is a plus.

• Container orchestration (Openshift / Kubernetes Cluster) experience is desirable.

• VMWare VCF work experience is a plus
