As a Cloud Solutions Architect on our team, you will demonstrate a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and services, proficiency in designing secure and scalable solutions, expertise in Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) or Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and knowledge of governance and compliance. You'll design and deploy microservices, web services using AP, and DevOps methods and tools. You'll use your hands-on experience in implementing robust security measures, network architecture, and data protection strategies within the cloud ecosystem. You'll use your experience with software development and integrations with industry standard tools to help bring Booz Allen cloud operations to the next level. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:
5+ years of experience architecting, integrating, and developing solutions using PowerShell, MS Graph, or Python, and corresponding server-side technologies such as microservices, enterprise messaging, or web services
Experience with designing, building, and operating full-stack solutions on AWS
Experience designing and deploying CI/CD pipelines using DevOps methods and tools, including Azure DevOps, Git Enterprise, Terraform, Jira, or Docker
Knowledge of virtual networks, subnets, and configuring routing, and network security groups to establish and secure infrastructure

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. Position Summary:
The Cloud Solutions Architect plays a pivotal role in guiding the agency through the complex process of migrating existing applications and infrastructure to a cloud-based platform. In collaboration with project managers, business analysts, stakeholders, and developers, this role researches, designs, implements, and manages cloud migration projects and oversees the planning, execution, and post-migration activities.
Supervision:
This position does not have direct reports.
Essential Functions:
Cloud Architecture Analysis, Design, Development, and Support - 50% of time
- Analyzes and assesses existing applications, infrastructure, and technical environments to identify risks and opportunities to cloud migration strategies
- Identifies and recommends cloud migration tools, frameworks, and methodologies to optimize the cloud migration strategies Develops detailed cloud migration plans, including resource allocation and technical requirements
- Implements, manages, and supports the cloud migration strategies
- Provides technical guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards, scalability, and performance targets
Project Leadership - 25% of time
- As the SME/Lead, collaborates with project managers, business analysts, stakeholders, and developers to manage and lead end-to-end cloud migration projects, overseeing the planning, execution, and post-migration activities
- Manages and leads the agency-wide cloud strategy adoption process
Agency/Department Compliance & Continuous Improvement - 20% of time

We are seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect with passion and experience to join our Infrastructure and Cloud Hosting team. In this role, you will design and architect solutions on Azure that meet the business and technical needs of our clients. You will also collaborate with the development and operations teams to ensure the smooth delivery and deployment of the solutions. You will work closely with our transformation partners. Additionally, you will contribute to our Cloud Center of Excellence, where you will share your insights and best practices with other cloud experts and enthusiasts.
Responsibilities:

Design and architect cloud-native, scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions on Azure using best practices and industry standards.

Collaborate with the business analysts, developers, testers, and project managers to understand the client's needs and translate them into technical specifications.

Provide guidance and support to the development and operations teams on Azure services, tools, and frameworks.

Implement DevOps practices and tools to automate and streamline the development, testing, and deployment processes.

Work with containers, microservices, serverless, and other modern architectures on Azure

Adopt agile and scrum methodologies to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing and Azure.

Contribute to the Cloud Center of Excellence by sharing your insights, learnings, and best practices with other cloud professionals.
Basic Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

At least 5 years of experience in designing and architecting solutions on Azure.

Strong knowledge of Azure services, such as App Service, Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, Cosmos DB, SQL Database, Storage, Key Vault, etc.
-
Experience with DevOps tools, such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines etc.
-
Experience with containers and orchestration tools, such as Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, etc.
-
Experience with data formats like JSON and YAML.

Experience in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash.

Experience with agile and scrum methodologies.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Requirements:

Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, equivalent experience.

Experience migrating workloads from on-premises to Azure.

Experience in leading or mentoring a team of developers and architects.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. In accordance with Colorado EPEWA, The salary range for this role is $130,000.00 - $80,000.00 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role. Our success is measured by the positive impact we make on people, our communities, and the world in which we live.
