As a Healthcare Assistant you will be:
- Consulting with patients to learn about their current symptoms.
- Teaching patients how to properly execute therapeutic exercises (sometimes performing them side by side)
- Managing daily office administrative tasks such as: manage patient appointments, updating files, and collecting payments.
- Coordinating and promoting various internal patient events.
- Supporting the doctor, team, patients for the growth of the clinic
Pay & Perks:
- Starting at $17/hour with a path to get you to $19.00 within the first 6 months.
- Full time work across a 4-day work week with long lunches: Monday-Thursday 7am-11:30am; 2:30pm-8pm; one Friday per month 7am-10am. Some weekends, optional.

Negotiates performance improvement activities with facility management as a result of NaviHealth data as well as when care issues are present. Consults with facility management and SNF Operations Manager in setting annual quality improvement goals. Addresses high risk, high volume patient care activities through use of continuous quality improvement tools and techniques. Identifies, tracks, and trends adverse events. Identifies and reports significant events. Facilitates root cause analyses. Partners with facility administration in developing systems to improve clinical quality and patient safety. Responsible for assisting licensed nursing personnel in the provision of nursing care. Participates as a member of the health care team under the direction of a licensed nurse as defined by Standards and Authorized Duties for Certified Nursing Assistants (OAR 851-63-0010 - 0060, 0080, 0090) or Nursing Assistants (WAC 246-841-400, 405). Also assists with clerical functions, housekeeping, and patient transportation throughout the hospital.

Patient Care
Provides care delegated and supervised by a registered nurse to meet the needs of clients determined by condition, development and age.
Participates and implements interdisciplinary plan of care as delegated.
Organizes and adapts plan of care with consideration for patient/client’s needs, desires and routines.
Demonstrates awareness and reinforces priorities in the plan of care.
Encourages self-care and independence as appropriate.
Identifies normal and abnormal mental function and demonstrates skills for addressing the needs and behaviors of the cognitively impaired.
Cares for and maintains client’s environment by avoiding environmental hazards, using restraints properly, and consistently using infection control procedures.
Recognizes abnormal signs and symptoms of common disease conditions and communicates accurately and with timeliness.
Provides and maintains basic nutrition and oral fluid intake.
Recognizes emergencies and responds demonstrating knowledge of emergency procedures.
Completes documentation according to guidelines.

Oregon Health & Science University is Oregon’s #1 hospital. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is part of the health care team in locations throughout OHSU. The CNA provides direct or general nursing care to patients from admission through discharge under the direction of a licensed nurse and within the parameters of the state licensing board. The CNA assists the patient, patients' families, nursing staff and other support staff to assure the delivery of safe, quality care in alignment with the mission and vision of Doernbecher Children's Hospital and OHSU.
Wage Range: $21.81 - $9.09 per hour
Night Shift Differential: 12.5% of base rate ( 2.65 minimum)
Schedules: Most of our full-time positions for CNA's are 12 hour shifts on 3 days per week, including every other weekend.
Function/Duties of Position- Assist with the admitting and discharge
- Obtain accurate vital signs and weight
- Complete all unit specific CNA documentation in the patient’s medical record related to: admissions, daily care, vital signs, weight, intake and output, discharge, etc.
- Assist the patient with any and all basic hygiene, lifting, transport, dietary support, and other personal needs and medical necessities
- Support patient and family centered care
- Report potential compliance problems as outlined in the Code of Conduct
- Model ethical and appropriate behavior, professional standards, compliance, and personal integrity
